So can anyone explain to me why Jade shouldn't have been fired?

What exactly did she do right in the whole of her PM process, besides suck up to stronger contestants?

Mary, it's a game and as soon as she mentioned her business plan, Sugar's ears pricked up. Err, sorry no but if that's the case, I keep on saying, it then dump the tasks and just turn it into the Dragon's Den type situation. Put Karren and Nick and some other people on a panel and ask the candidates each week to stand in front of them (on their own) and do a pitch. Other than that, I'm speechless but the show is so past its sell by date now that its original impetus is lost.

Talking of strategies and focus, the new format now affords neither of these, so it's really hard to take it seriously.

She was strong in previous tasks. It does suck, though that the decision is sometimes based on the task and sometimes based on previous tasks.

It does and I sometimes wonder if there isn't too much emphasis on past and future for Sugar since the introduction of the business plans. Greed greed and more greed - not ability or talent, he just sees pound signs.

SA and corporates will be marking your thread as a future idea

Sorry to say, but she's been unremarkable to me so far. And after tonight's performance, I would definitely have sacked her.

The pound signs have long gone by. He cares less about them, but moving into the bigger power circles.

He wants to be a true competitor for ratings. Possibly looking at a new show entirely etc.

Put it this way, The Apprentice was unique and original....but now dated and cliched, televised, and now crap.

He'll be looking at something fresh and original.

I've personally no problem with that, but can't stand sellouts.......and that's what he's done lately.

Another good post. The first and second series, even the third were not to be missed. I don't watch now but watch it back on bbc player. My husband absolutely detests Sugar so he won't sit through it. Never be in awe of anyone I hear the sounds from around me. Too true. You mentioned Cowell earlier- yeah same with him. Egos and viewing figures are the order of the day. All of these programmes now have become staid.

A good reply that I also agree with madetomeasure.(haha...we'll be accused of being in a relationship shortly )

I think it's going to take something special and unique where the man on the street is truly going to feel represented to be special these days.

But with my cynical hat always in place, I very much doubt it is going to happen anytime soon. We'll be duped and conned stupid before that will ever happen.

Was she? She's proven herself to be good at design in two tasks, but other than that what's she done?

Exactly! During the fitness task, she was just busy bickering with Adam.

Lord Sugar has a better insight into the candidates performances than we do, due to the fact that they have to scale down each task to about 35 minutes. When Lord Sugar says this:

I'm inclined to believe him.

People last series kept on saying that people (not just Tom) were only being kept in for their business plans. Then it turned out they were all shite.

Jade was kept in because Lordalan thought she'd done better overall than Azhar (which is debatable, because the edit has buried both of them so hard outside of their PMing stints that it's difficult to tell what either of them did on a week-to-week basis), and that Azhar had poor people skills (which he does - watch episode 2 back - he alienated his entire team, even the people who agreed with him). Also she yelled a lot in the boardroom, which has always been a thing (*spit* Jo Cameron *spit*), so long as you stop when you're told to.

If it were based on this task, she would have got fired, but he's just done firings based on one task only with Jane and Duane and Katie (and of coruse people complained about those as well). He can't always do the same thing, although it's beyond time that at least one Project Manager got fired, and Jade going this week was a better chance than most he's had so far. I'm surprised he didn't go for it. Maybe he's trying to prove a point about it being a good thing to step up and take responsibility but then...it's not as though Jade even did that given that she was forced into the job and was incredibly reluctant to make any decisions at all.

Because she's more telegenic than Azhar?

It's also more entertaining watching someone make a fool of themselves rather than just quietly getting on with the job.

emm ... personally I think he's the hotest Apprentice candidate ever ...

Otherwise, she didn't get sacked cos she came up with every cliche under the sun, Azhar let her get her way by not speaking out and it's good to see the likes of Jade get through to the interviewing stage, can't wait to see her comeuppance ...

The only positive thing that I can really say about Jade is ...
... she has the dirtiest laugh that I have EVER heard!!

More than Azhar is all she needs to do.

She has more drive, which he tends to go for, and more success in earlier tasks. His PM outing was a disaster only saved by issues on the other team and randomness in the outcome . If she's offering something to do with design, she's proved she can do that.

Looked at the other way, he may just be asking does he think there's something there to nurture and does he want to work with that person. Ahzar looks negative, she looks positive. She made mistakes, but ultimately her team still made a lot of money , Ahzar didn't articulate better solutions well enough.
