Who I think will be voted off next week (SPOILERS)
Joshua he is due to get an early slot in the running order and I think he is being set up as the 4th place shocker next week he will get a standing ovation for both performaces making his total of standing ovation's 15 which is why they probably didn't stand for his first performace

He's a good singer, just not my cup of tea. I could see there being a shock, but I think it's more likely that Jessica could go, not Joshua.
I've got everything crossed for Hollie that she can make it to top three. She may still be ending up near the bottom every week, but she's clearly gaining votes every week, as she is leapfrogging someone else to stay in. |

I don't even care anymore. The judges have done their manipulating to the viewers by making them feel guilty of voting Jessica off and having Joshua in bottom three also.
It worked and now they are safe each week. Also the magic of standing ovation has lost all it's meaning with the judges getting up too many times for Joshua and Jessica, even when they are just ok. When I think of some of the magical perfomances from the earlier seasons that didn't get standing ovations, it makes me laugh. Jessica and Joshua are good, but they are not the best thing that ever happened to this show. I think the downhill of the ratings are making them praise some of the contestants too much in an attemp to make this show more appealing |

Joshua is the most over-rated contestant in American Idol history, so I hope you're right. I'm not saying he isn't good, of course he is. But no way does he deserve the amount of praise he has had throughout this process.
And I agree with the above poster about the standing ovations, i thought the judges were bad last year with their 'everyone is so wonderful' speeches every single week, but this year they've outdone themselves. Say what you want about Simon Cowell but at least he could distinguish between good and excellent. |

Hollie's Bleeding Love, IMO, was her best performance so far. I felt the emotion, she changed it up a little from the original, but not too much. It was simple, and she sounded amazing. Yet they all stayed seated?! Even after giving her a standing ovation for The Climb last week?

I am getting the feeling he is being set up to fall as the top 4 shock exit like James and Daughtry and it's about time he performs first as he has got the pimp slot twice within the last three weeks.

More than likely second. She's been in the bottom 5 times now. One of them times she even had the pimp slot. She's my favourite of the series, but her time will definitely be up. I can't see Jessica being eliminated and definitely not Philip (for whatever reason people are vote for him. Cough *Lee DeWyze* Cough )

Agree, right down to a tee. Yes. Joshua is good, but they need to calm down he's not the second coming. They might as well take away their chairs because they're never off their feet when Joshua performs.

Surely on talent it has to be a Joshua and Jessica final. Anything else would be plain silly - there a million times better then the other 2.

I think Joshua has a better chance of the final than Jessica. He's been bottom three, presumably third from bottom, but Jessica hit the actual bottom, so he's doing better in the votes.
Is the final between the top two? I think it's likely to be Joshua and Phillip |

Next week surely Philip Philips will go. Is fans will be getting fed up of these boring performances. I think he is out of his depth now compared to the other 3.

I think Jessica will go. Hollie is gaining momentum, she may be bottom two but she's not hit the bottom yet, whereas Jessica has...

I'd probably want Hollie to go this week, she's okay but for me she lacks consistency, Joshua and Jessica have been more consistent whereas she has been very on and off for me

![]() I am agreed with the "surely on talent" part and yes it should be so that is why Hollie and Phillip should be the finalists in that case. If it is not on talent but on sympathy votes and "wow you're only 16..." then Joshua and Jessica would fit that. Come on America vote for talent and Keep Hollie and Phillip in for top 3. |

I completely agree with Hollie singing bleeding love. I hated that song when Leona Lewis sang it as i don't like her voice. But Hollie completely surpassed the other contestants when she sang it. It was beautiful. The best song of the series but yet they did not give a standing ovation when it was truely deserving of one.

Joshua does seem like that contestant, but I think Hollie probably has reached the end of the line this week. Her improvement over the last month has been wonderful to watch, but she will have to pull something extraordinary out to survive.
I still see a Philip/Jessica final, and I hope we end up with a Kris/Adam situation where the favourite's overbearing fanbase alienates all non-fans into voting for whoever he is up against. Philip DOES NOT deserve to win at all. |

For me, Hollie and Phillip are my favourites, so I hope they are in top 3. Of J and J, I don't really have a preference, but Joshua has been better, even though his voice isn't my cup of tea. I think it'll be between Hollie and Jessica to go, and hopefully Hollie can leapfrog someone else in the votes again. |

I personally think it's fair to say Hollie has been inconsistent. She started off well, had a few middling performances, then had one or two bad ones (eg What A Feeling), and then in the last month or so has come out all guns blazing and has been the real standout.

Aside from What A Feeling and Honesty, I think she's sung at a consistently high level. Perfect, Rolling In The Deep, The Climb, Bleeding Love, River Deep Mountain High, All The Man That I Need, Power Of Love, Reflection, Jesus Take The Wheel, Son of A Preacher Man... All excellent performances IMO. And that's practically every performance she's given.
I do agree that she has stepped it up a notch in the last three weeks or so though. Just a shame she's still been bottom two/three. At least she's obviously been picking votes up to still be in. |

I really hope Hollie manages to survive. I think she's been pretty consistant, the judges comments on the other hand have not! She deserves to stay at least over Phillip and Joshua, who are perhaps the most overrated in the shows history...
Jessicas good, but I think the judges like of her puts me off her. |

Lets not lie. The other three destroyed her last night and she had a stinker with her last performance
Anyway here are the reviews. Hollie Cavanagh: Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” | The hardest moment of Top 4 week, for me for you, was Hollie’s slight hiccup/tentativeness before she repeated the line “And I will give up this fight.” I’m not sure if Hollie lost her place in the song, or if she was just feeling emotional and struggling to maintain control of her vocal, but I do know one thing: I wasn’t feeling the ache and heartbreak of a woman realizing her lover is slipping away, I was feeling sorry for a sweet kid who may or may not have realized that her dream was in its final hours. Yeah, stranger things have happened than Hollie cracking the Top 3 — ever hear of Jasmine Trias or Nikki McKibbin? — but our British Texan’s face registered glum defeat as she put down the mic and prepared for what she knew would be drawn-out negative feedback from the judges. It’s okay, kid: We’ll always have your iTunes rendition of “Power of Love” (which, incidentally, was Skylar Laine’s favorite iTunes recording of the season). http://tvline.com/2012/05/09/america...-joshua-ledet/ MICHAEL SLEZAK TV Line Hollie chooses "I Can't Make You Love Me," which is a bad, bad choice because Hollie can sing, but she can't sing like Bonnie Raitt. Her voice lacks the texture and grit. Jimmy Iovine, who is a welcome sight at this point, thinks the problem with Hollie is that she's an emotionless android like in Small Wonder (I'm paraphrasing), so if she can show people the little tiny Bonnie Raitt hiding inside her it might help her chances. Unfortunately, she sings it like the mini Celine Dion she is and no one likes it and the judges line up to critique her. MELISSA LOCKER Rolling Stone http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/n...#ixzz1uVwViD4t Cavanagh, 18, told Ryan Seacrest that she had some off-camera coaching to channel the power ballad's meaning. The result: haunting and memorable, with traces of Carrie Underwood's stage presence; a vast improvement for Cavanagh, who's previously appeared nervous and timid on stage. Everything went downhill for the aspiring Celine Dion, however, on Raitt's "I Can't Make You Love Me," another staple karaoke song. Although mentor Jimmy Iovine cautioned her not to over-sing, she did exactly that without a hint of Raitt's warm, nuanced delivery. Overall, the judges felt her effort lacked conviction and fell short of what could have been an Idol-defining wow moment. hollywoodreporter Erin Carlson http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ido...sanchez-322649 |
