intempo evolve
I've just bought one of these and it's rubbish.
The video streaming is jerky and the picture on my LG 3D tv is pixelated. Some services eg ITV player says it is not optimized for mobiles?? I'm on virgin broadband and using an ethernet connection not wifi so you can't blame the provider. It's ok for general web surfing but video streaming is like an old pc/laptop with poor graphics/ram. I just thought it would be useful and quicker than connecting a pc. Oh well another one for ebay |

Just use it as advertised through my tv to access the internet
I was also thinking of downgrading my virgin tv services and use the evolve for lovefilm etc. and other video. The point I was trying to make is that despite having a good internet speed and up to date tv it performs like an older pc with not enough ram or a good enough graphics card. I tried some of the trailers on love film etc. and they are jerky and out of synch with the audio. The apps come with the box as standard. It is connected directly to my router If I try to use any of the catchup services the picture is ok but it is more like a scart or analogue picture rather than a digital pic through an hdmi cable. ITV player won't play and I get the message along the lines of ITV player is not optimized for mobiles?? I presume this has something to do with the android system?? Any help would be appreciated

the only thing I can think of , is there an option to watch in higher specs ? from SD to HD
and then the jerkiness will be worse I think the UK broadband speed everywhere has to improve greatly , and 4 G will speed up everything. 4 G in theory will be 100 mbits , but around 10 meg in normal world ; which will be faster than most peoples landline broadband however you should try a friend or neighbour with a games console to try out the apps , I dont think Boxee will be much better for you |
