Hi can i recharge an apple i pod from the mains ( using the adaptor that comes with the i pad) or can it only be charged from a computer

My husband charges his ipod touch with the cable from my iphone. I think the ipad is a slightly different cable, but I may be wrong.

I have a mains charger for my Ipod, and I also have a mains multi-voltage USB charger which I use when on holiday (I use it to also charge Iphone, Kindle, SWMBO's Mobile etc.)
