Plasma - Sky - DVD/Video combi Problems

right people the deal is - never let ure missus loose with the credit card

the missus ordered a plasma for the bedroom with a dvd/video combi - but unlike when i ordered the previous tvs for the rest of the house i paid someone to install and setup the systems up

i think i have set it up all correct - just want everything to work together my problems are

i can watch sky - cant seem to record it
i can watch a video if i turn the power off and back on again and press play (if that makes sense)
when trying 2 tune in tv stations bbc1-bbc2-itv-ch4-ch5 -all it does is find bbc1 and comes up as ch69 (something 69 - not looked at it this morning)

so can anyone shed some light on my problems??? - the manual only really takes u to the point where im at - everything works - i can watch things just cant get everything working alongside eachother

How have you got it connected now? Also does your DVD/VCR have RGB inputs as that affects the best way to connect it.?

You dont deserve help - a plasma in the bedroom - i'd kill for one in the house full stop, never mind the missus actually condoning this.

However, i would recommend using scarts wherever possible - no tuning (apart from aerial which should be automatic - at least through the video??) sky and DVD/video should be available on each AV channel with no config problems.

well im only using scarts

im able to watch sky when i take out the scart and put it back in again (if that makes sense)

i can watch a video if turn the power of the combi off and then on again and press play it works

so everythings working to a point - just not together and smoothly

when trying to tune in bbc1 bbc2 etc all im picking up is bbc1 and no other station and it comes up as c69

and plasma in the bedroom lol i kno but its very mtv cribs in my house

I'm only jealous...

The only other thing i can think of, as i had a similar problem with my system, 2 out of the 3 scart sockets can be set to automatic settings (which was the default) - ie when a device plugged into the automatic scart is switched on/channel changed etc, it switches to that overpowering the other scarts, so only one thing worked at a time. This was solved by changing all AV1 and 2 settings to manual.

As for the channel thing i havent a clue.

I just went through menu, and browsed channel settings on mine - it might not be the same thing, but it does sound like it.

Hope it works...
