I made sure it was built just a Mile from where I live.

The Duke and Duchess are going across really well, seem very lovely people and being horsey I loved seeing her excitement of seeing her horse compete. Shame for them the event was cancelled this year becuase of the weather.
Irongate....

I feel it's on at the wrong time....prime time BBC1 on Monday....isn't a place for Ironing.

BBC2 6.30pm....10 half hour episodes....Perfect.

Having read here about the ironing and indoor flowers, I did miss out a lot of this episode 2.

As a regular visitor it added nothing.

Let's see what ep3 brings, I think one ep would have been long enough.

There does seem to be a lot of obsequious trivia in this, but I guess they have to pad it out to fill the number of episodes.

I don't want to be churlish cos I know a lot of people are enjoying it and I don't mind it - but, I'm wondering if we are moving away from this sort of programme now? It's all a bit stereotyped - the doubty dowager, the Duke and Duchess who get their hands dirty litter picking and the cheeky chappy/devoted family retainer in the shop I think there might be another perspective they could come at this from.

Unfortunately, the general approach is too often dumbing down in the quest for a wider audience.
This at least hasn't reached the stage of some documentaries presented by "the usual suspects" where they tell you what they are going to show you, then show you, then show you something else, then go back to what they showed you before and remind you again what they've shown you, in case you'd forgotten in the space of a couple of minutes.

There was something similar at the beginning where you got a few clips of the more interesting bits of the programme, which when they got to each of these, you got the feeling of déjà vu.
Like most programmes I recorded this and fast-forwarded through quite a bit.

Really enjoyed the first episode but struggled to keep awake watching the second one. Not really into flower arranging, ironing and cleaning mind.

Did they have something under the long tablecloth while ironing it as it would ruin the table otherwise.

I enjoyed the programme, looks such a lovely place to go and visit.

I'm going to do that now cos there are some good bits, just too much of the obvious

Just watched the 3rd and final episode on Iplayer and it's even worse the the last one (The staff eating thier fish and chips,a pride and predudice re-enactment and a bloke collecting sheep crap to put on his tomato plants does not make great Telly ).

It took me about ten minutes to watch my recording of the last episode, there was so much dire trivia in it to skip through.
Still, I guess it served the same purpose and was cheaper for the family, than a promotional commercial on ITV.

Didn't make for great TV for prime time BBC1.

Much better, and only just finished on SKY Atlantic, The Guest Wing....with great narration by Maggie Steed.
