I am old enough to remember when there weren't really that many Asians in this country. There were small communities but nothing like there is now and I have seen a massive change.

I had quite a bit to do with Asian families and schools in the 1970s and by & large they were very gentle, very respectful, very family-orientated and really motivated to get a good education and job.

I lived in the Midlands then but returned to my old city a few years ago. I could not believe the change and the sheer numbers of Asians. These will be second and third generation families I guess. The biggest change I noticed was how the young girls dressed and how they behaved in public. I was also shocked to see mens magazines in a newsagents there with naked Asian women. When did that happen? The girls I used to know were escorted to work by family members and collected again at night! They weren't even allowed to speak to males outside their family.

It was and is a beautiful country my family and extended family were exiled (Pahlavi) after the White Revolution and we (extended family) were only allowed back on short visits but even those have stopped in the last few years. Some people have no idea of its history or what the White Revolution was all about and just jump on some bandwagon (present company excluded of course).

I can't legally travel to Iran but I'd love to. I've met many great Persian people (including one hilarious doctor) and great Iraqui people as well. *stereotype alert* Some Persian men are pretty hot too.

I accept your point here, and have seen what you are describing when I have worked in Muslim countries. However, as a woman who stands against all abuse of women, I'd rather have my (small) place in the entire world, than the home.

Some Persian men are very hairy So are us Persian women but we can remove it at least it gives us great hair and long eyelashes lol.

I do understand what you're saying but as a persian muslim and being of iranian heritage i have never felt like a second class citizen either in or outside of my home
