Not suing him would look like a tacit admission she wanted it out there. It also keeps it all in the press longer. Once it's out there she might as well make the most of it. No such thing as bad publicity these days.

If she sues him she wants to "keep it in the papers" or if she doesn't sue him it's an "admission of guilt". She really can't win either way ..

But hey, the courts are always open to hearing frivolous cases where one side is apparently only doing it for publicity I suppose ..

I thought her singing last night was pretty awful but to be honest wasn't expecting much. The overall performance didn't make up for it - her dancing was really lacking in energy.

She was definitely live but with a backing track vocal too (which is the norm for any pop act).

I find it funny that people are slagging off her voice. It's because she's been in the limelight for ages but not that many of the viewers have actually heard her sing! I remember watching N-Dubz a few years ago and thinking she was okay for them, but not great. She obviously only got the job with them cause she's Dappy's cousin!

It was waaay worse than that. She looked totally embarrassed at having to try some dance moves having basically mocked other women for years for mainstream pop careers and having to do stuff they don't really want to do.

And then as soon as the pound signs appear in her eyes, there she is doing the same thing, only really really poorly.

So you genuinely believe that if she wasn't on X-factor and hadn't just done a sex tape her single would have sold so much? We know from all the threads you clearly hold her in high regard but really, come on?!

N-Dubz were relatively successful but an average teeny bopper band signed to their Dad's record label with limited audience, like Tulisa, Marmite. Had she not been a part of X-factor or sex-tape which 'coincidently' came out just before her single about regretting things when she was Young, I don't believe she would have been as a successful solo artist as she has been so far. Neither would Dappy without his collaborations.

Just my opinion

Considering the media profile of N'Dubz and their run of chart success, i'd say it would be highly likely her first solo single would have been at least moderately successful.


I don't actually. I find the amount of vitriol directed at female celebrities on this forum quite amazing sometimes so I usually find myself trying to add a bit of balance.

At the end of the day, it would have been down to how much money the label had invested. If they'd wanted to spend a lot of money making her the next big female solo artist in this country then who knows what would have happened ?

As I've said many times before, it's also perfectly feasible that Justin Edwards deliberately released the tape when he did as a calculated attempt to sabotage her career.

In my world, I'm willing to give people the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. I really don't have the energy or inclanation to live in Digital Spy world where everything has a hidden meaning and nothing "just happens" without an army of PR agents telling celebrities to walk, talk and take a dump.

If she'd have mimed, that would have been wrong. She sang live, and that's wrong. I've heard her sing better, so I'd put it down to nerves.

Like you say, I think she would have been 'moderately successful' without her sudden media input, but not headlining everywhere and being voted 1# sexy, it's just too much and unrealistic (IMO).
There is a difference between saying you don't agree with/believe in a scenario and spouting vitriol.

I agree with you, the music labels have obviously decided, like they did with Cheryl, to spend a lot of money making her the next big female solo artist, by whatever means it takes! It doesn’t mean we have to like it or her or her music, particularly on a thread discussing her bad performance on BGT.
I’m all up for giving the benefit of the doubt, and I certainly don’t live in any ‘Digital Spy World’ but I am realistic about how people succeed with limited talent.
I neither like or dislike her, but I don't think she's a great singer, I don't think she's 1# sexy and I think she has the best PR people working for her around that has gravitated a not very special person, into being very special. But that's their job, so well done.

I don't think that it's that she's 'un' sexy, she's just not sexy compared to what we perceive 'sexy' women to be.....if that makes sense, and unfortunately your average woman on the street is definitely not sexy to most other people apart from their partners (if they're lucky)......just look round asda next time you're there (not implying you shop at asda, just an example!)

Just have to point out that this isn't necessarily as impressive as some people make it out to be. The record company themselves apply & pay for a record to be classified. They send figures of how many were shipped to the retailers (100k for Gold, 300k for Platinum) & not how many were actually sold to the public.

I agree that people like me are too quick to scoff at the achievements & talents of artistes such as Tulisa (although is it any wonder with the amount of manipulation & the resulting dross we're subjected to?) but surely you can't deny that the old adage of, "There's no such thing as bad publicity" has never been truer.

The sex tape being front page news has led to far more exposure for Tulisa to a much wider audience than she would have had previously & this can only be a good thing for her record sales & career.
After all, who knew who Paris Hilton was before her sex tape? Would she have had the the singles & TV presence she has without that exposure? Highly unlkely.

The only downside for Tulisa is that it showed she's crap at giving head which may put off potential boyfriends.

Depends what they look like & how they move etc. Obviously, it's all subjective but I think Tulisa is distinctly average looking (10 a penny down a nightclub - although that may have something to do with beer goggles).
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't kick her out of bed for farting (although I would if she started singing) but I've seen far more attractive & sexier women at work today.

Can't sing, can't dance, but she's been seen in a little second-rate private porn movie.
