As it has been years since I saw season 1 of Stargate I should have forgotten enough for it to feel like a new show.

I'm even looking forward to Spartacus, not very suitable for mixed family viewing but an interesting take on the story I think.

Hoping to see season two of Chris Ryan's Strike Back after Spartacus and still have my fingers crossed that the Middle and Modern Family come back after all the 4th season is on Sky 1 so surely season two could be put on PickTV.

Come on Sky give us more US sitcoms to mix in the rest of much improved programming on your freeview channels.
I can confirm that Futurama from 12/11/12 is season two (Series 2, episode 5).

I suppose it was too much to ask that they put on season 6, ho hum.

Anyway have the movies all next week plus Stargate and Spartacus so can't complain.

I wonder what will be next as we are now in the run up to Christmas putting more quality general tv on Pick would, imho, increase viewer number and allow Sky to try and sell pay tv to more viewers or is that silly?

I still say they need a few sitcoms to balance out the afternoon/evening timeslot but again just my view.

Could the mods please rename this thread to just Pick TV as thats where the general discussion lies not really with Dog the bounty hunter, just will make it easier for people like me to find a thread to discuss Pick TV

Thanks

A very good point, this thread turned into a general Pick TV one a little while ago.

And on the general side does anyone know what, if anything, will replace Stargate Universe after this weekend when the last episode of series two is broadcast?

Also after this latest deal with NBC will PickTV start boardcasting their back catalouge of Law and Order, Monk, etc. as some of these shows have been round quite a few times and I cna't see people wanting to spend good money watching them on pay tv or am I being rather dim?

Monk has been on in late night slots on ITV3 in the last few months etc.

Morning Pick TV fans

Any news at this time if We will have season two of Stargate SG1 after season one finishes?

And is anyone watch Sparacus Gods of the Arena, I rather like the show it fills in the gaps in the back history from the origianl show and fits nicely along side it I think.

Hope they put on the second season of the original series will be interesting to see how the slaves get out of the house and how the broadcaster handle the whole slave revolt story line.

Great we get season two, yipee!

Wonder if anything else 'new' will pop up as we move into December.

I'd like to see Modern Family and The Middle season two personally, after all season four was/is running on Sky 1 so surely season two is old enough for PickTV. Shame they never put Hot in Cleveland on when the still had the rights the couple they showed on a free weekend were fairly well paced and worked nicely.

Didn't really like Modern Family first off but it grew on me. And the Middle was very funny I thought and who can't enjoy the janitor from Scrubs as a main cast member.

So that's also good for Charmed fans

I did watch the show more or less from start to finish when it was first on TV but I don't get the same buzz with it second time around but wit Star Trek and now Stargate I do, funny isn't it.

Still wonder if they will bring anything else in for Christmas to replace some the of the regular content.

Just have to wait and see.

Unless I'm seeing things Pick TV on my 14 day epg has Star Trek Voyager on at 6 am from Monday December 3rd. I thought Sky lost the broadcast rights to this show?

Or could this be a mistake?

Thanks I've re checked my guide and the show appears to be on in the 6am and 9 am slot.

It has to be a mistake.

Maybe they only lost the rights to TNG, as Sky Atlantic still seem to be showing Voyager and Enterprise into December, so perhaps its not a mistake?

Also it looks like Pick actually has an official Facebook page now as well, it has pictures of some of their shows (including Star Trek: TNG even though they have now don't have the rights to it). I assume it must be the proper page as Challenge and the other Sky channels have 'liked' the page and Michelle Livings has introduced herself as one of the voiceovers on the channel.

Elementary etc. flipping heck Sky must have lost the plot, they are putting real new programmes on Pick TV

Well I won't complain.

With these new shows maybe they will up the sitcom output and put season two of Modern family on sometime soon and The Middle.

The coverage for Sci Fi and drama has been fairly good but Pick needs a few sitcoms, I know you could class Futurama as a sitcom but some more would be nice.

The response for Voyager makes sense, from the guide it seems to the season after Seven of Nine joined the crew.

Is it just me or is it weird seeing her on Body of Proof

Anyone know the reason Star Trek Voyager isn't getting a prime-time repeat?

Could it be that they will run back2back episodes at the weekend?

Sky does also buy the FTA rights to the shows they acquire but have hardly ever used them. It was always a case of buy them to stifle competition but i think they have realized, finally, that using them makes alot more economic sense than keeping them and using them when they are on the verge of expiry, when they are next to worthless.

If they make a decent goof PickTV, it could be a cracking channel.
I am still a little unsure where this move came from though and what its motives are.

Sky are clearly improving and diversifying Pick's content and l hope that Stephen Ladlow continues this welcome trend. That said, Pick TV still has some way to go yet before it matches the varied content of the old Sky 3.

Well that all explains why Pick TV has improved in the last 12 months or so.

And well done Mr Ladlow, now get some sitcoms on there to replace Futurama or one episode of each and Pick will be a fairly solid general entertainment channel that will get a solid number of viewers.

If only Sky had a freeview movie once a week or month that would be great, say 9 pm Friday or Saturday it would pull in extra viewer especially if they went for something fairly new.
