Maybe Coronation Street's 'old pensioner' audience are more used to recording it than watching repeat showings.

My Mum's been watching Corrie since probably the 70s (she isn't a pensioner by the way) and she always Sky+'s it rather than seeking out ITV2 repeats. She's been known to watch the recording at the same time as it is airing on ITV2 or even when it was airing on ITV1+1!

Could be the last hurrah for Bond on ITV what with Sky's exclusive rights kicking in soon. Think their rights expire in August, with Sky taking over from October.

This is all a rehersal for the Olympics I take it, umpteen posts going on about whatever ITV are showing (I did predict that this would be where all the focus would be weeks ago but was rubbished)

LOL at the fact that someone calls ITV "Channel 3."

The loss of the Bond films is a big one as it reaches out to a demo that aren't exactly regular ITV viewers.

In my experience, a lot of people call them channel 1, channel 2, channel 3 etc

Yet of course always refer to the digital channels by their proper names.

I know some people round here still like to call it Anglia even though it has all but ditched its regional roots, but not Channel 3!

Well that's the proper legal name for the ITV licence, so well done to them for their broadcasting knowledge.

I remember in summer of 1999 (I think), after News at Ten was moved, ITV played out all the Bond films chronologically and they did really well, up to 10m on warm nights. A different era.

If I was ITV I'd air all the Bond films again before the license expire and try and get people tired of them before the switch.

Credit to ITV; I think it's sensible scheduling. Then again I thought the Harry Potter film was sensible scheduling opposite Strictly Come Dancing.

"Channel 3" is so common YTT tried rebranding its stations as that at one point & I'm pretty sure that someone prominent (Greg Dyke maybe?) once suggested rebranding the network as Channel 3.

What do you think Itv will wheel out against the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony which will be one of the biggest ratings of the decade.

I think ITV have drained Potter dry. Sucked the magic out of him perhaps.

just saying:................. I know its going to rate massively, but its as corny as a Summer Special from the 1970's

PS i'm sure The Queen can empathise with Elton singing "I dont have much money, but if I did I'd buy a big house"

The concert is just great. Not the presenting but the singiing. Really enjoying it, doesn't matter who is showing it.

They only have to worry from possibly 8.30pm onwards as the ceremony doesn't start until 9pm so it'll probably be business as usual until 9pm. I think they should put something like a Doc Martin or Downton Abbey repeat on so it finishes by 10pm so News at Ten can stay in place as the BBC won't be able to air the news then.

I think ITV have drained Potter dry. Sucked the magic out of him perhaps.
They can't show another Harry Potter until the summer at the earliest. Give it a nice long break after the over exposure last autumn.

There is the pre-show at 20.12, but I don't know how compelling that's going to be or even what it will entail.

Given the age of most of the audience, that's probably quite appropriate. This ain't the same crowd as Radio 1's Hackney Weekend, thats for sure!

It's the broadest of the broad, naff in a good way, and works perfectly for the occasion, I think. The staging and setting looks sensational since the sun set too.
