Good singers? Good critiques? Watchability?

It'll soon be easier to list things it does have going for it. No adverts I suppose.

Only 140% buzz on Zeebox right now for The Voice. Before its been as high as 700%.

Will IAm s group performance was awesome, great production, choreography etc very reminiscent of outcast, best part of a flat show.

I wonder how many switched over to BGT and missed it.

A shame BGT went for yet another singing act as the wildcard, especially one unlikely to cause an upset, but great actually it seemed to be kept underwraps and was revealed on the show itself.

The Voice was dreadful tonight, had to turn it off for the first time. BGT on the hand is only 10 minutes in and is already holding my interest.

It was released by their manager on Facebook a couple of hours ago but to keep it so quiet for so long is quite impressive.

I think they're trying to weaken The Loeable Rogues' vote by bringing The Mend back, strengthening Jonathan and Charlotte/Ashleigh and Pudsey in the process.

It was leaked on the BGT forum actually!

A predictable choice. Best option to open the show with though - they won't cause an upset which is of course what they wanted.

Depends how much they like watching commercials I suppose.

Well I don't have any interest in it but given all the posts I thought I'd watch the first 5 minutes of The Voice just to see what it looked like.

The thing that shocked me was the expression on Tom Jones face (live in the studio not on the VT). He looked totally bored as if he didn't want to be there - it seemed almost as if he didn't realise the camera was on him (obviously referring to shots of him when he wasn't speaking).

We have to get a little perspective, The Voice will have provided the BBC with some of its best ratings of the year and it has made an initial impact far greater than X Factor or BGT ever did. However its clear from worldwide reaction that the live shows do need major surgery to make people want to stay with it. Its hard to see the same thing not happening next year unless things change-as i still think the hook of the chairs will ensure another strong start next year.As it is I just get the feeling this series cant end quickly enough now.

Well he says he is keen and wants to come back next year. Its hard to say, but I dont think his style suits a live show like this, his delivery is too slow. That wasnt so bad when things can be edited, but it really shows up now.

I still maintain that they should keep the chairs turned for the live shows so the judges can only judge 'The Voice'. Obviously they turn around to make comment. It'd make it very different from other reality shows and the judges wouldn't be distracted by the production.

Seems a bit unnatural on ITV... "and now, another interactive advert".

They don't seem to work anyway - Shazam keeps crashing.

Hasn't been mentioned, which is surprising given all those criticising the BBC for trying to make the clash bigger by pushing it back 5 minutes, that The Voice actually finished 2/3 minutes earlier than scheduled. I guess it easier to mindlessly criticise the BBC than it is to take it back.

That said, I agree The Voice is becoming unwatchable, which is a shame as there's so much potential, and of course the overwhelming smugness from those enjoying it flop. I just hope they can fix the problems and come back bigger next year, as this thread and the press don't need yet another stick to beat the BBC with.

People on Twitter are saying BGT is having its best ever final tonight. Seems like theyre pulling a good one out of the bag tonight. But is it now too late for it to get the 15million peak viewers as the semis have rated lower than usual?

As for The Voice, the coaches were interacting much mroe with each other in todays show and we're seeing their personalities come through more. I also think the group performances were excellent and the second half of the show was strong. The first 30 minutes were a bit flat though because of poor song choices and weaker contestants.

It is a really good show tonight, I can't think of anything that is wrong, even the ad breaks don't seem particularly annoying, It'd be a shame if it ends up as one of the lowest rating.

Diversity and Susan Boyle are performing by the way during the interval - should hold up better than James Corden did last year.

BGT is without doubt having a great final and like the Diversity one a few years back each act is coming on, seemingly having a shot of winning, then being blown out of the water by the next. And unlike The Voice when the judges say they love a performance you believe them. Having to weigh up my love for Wales vs my love for dogs now.

I wasn't watching The Voice so didn't realise. Obviously the BBC just ran overtime and managed to make up for it. Credit to them.

The Voice just needs a reboot for the live stage. It can be done. And the smugness would remain even if it was doing well - look at the posts on here during the audition stages. A hyped show always has gets this kind of attitude directed towards it.

Considering the number of singers it has been an excellent final, and the ads are better placed than during the semi finals. The lack of momentum through the week will probably cost it dear which is a shame.

BGT betting-in-running (Betfair)
Jonathan and Charlotte 10/11 fav, Ashleigh and Pudsey 5/4, 20/1 bar.

Best final of BGT I can remember. Despite the claims of 'no talent' I think they proved people wrong tonight. The most open final I can recall as well - I can't call the winner.
