Everything lower than I expected last night, except Homeland which has been very consistent for a US import. I've got them all recorded now so hopefully I can watch them soon. I've heard alot of good stuff about it - so hopefully it lives up to expectations. Does anyone know the series average, exc. +1/inc. +1 please?

BGT did OK, but not great. Hopefully some momentum can build this week ahead of Saturday's Final. As for TV. That's a very low rating. It's now 4.2m viewers adrift from the series high of 10.7m. I can't remember a show to lose so much momentum in such a short space of time. I don't know how they can improve its fortunes as the next few weeks its got some difficult slots/competition. It's downward trend needs to be reversed ASAP. It does have alot of problems. Last night's BGT live show was excellent, and really does show how poor TV's live shows are in comparison.

This weeks episodes are much stronger than that of the past 2 years against BGT week.
It's got quite a mixed cast tonight and features the Exit of Carol and the kids this week. It seems the BEEB has planned it well as Ben reveals he killed Heather next Monday
4.1m is my guess for tonight but should be higher tomorrow in it's normal slot.

Something driven entirely by one newspaper, and a report that had no real credibility (i.e. it assumed too much - newspapers should report facts rather than assumptions).

After all, where is the proof that the BBC told her what to wear? Why couldn't an attractive presenter decide to wear what she wanted to wear (and wear a style that she has worn before)? If the BBC had decided to sex it up, then why did she wear a totally different style of dress that came up to her neck on the Results show? Logic would suggest that she would have had to wear a similarly low-cut dress. But something conveniently overlooked by the Daily Star report (presumably because it would not have been that newsworthy, and would have meant that they could not publish a picture of said low-cut dress in order to sell their paper with a drummed-up "Sex Wars" headline).

BGT still does well and I think it will be around for a couple of years yet, as it's the younger of the 2 Cowell shows, but it hasn't had a Subo moment this year or last. I reckon it will average 9 million this week, with 11 million for the final.

I'm not up on the ratings of Eastenders but that sounds way off.

will.i.am has certainly struggled. Some people find his incoherency endearing, I find it incredibly annoying.

Danny is the best for me, even though he needs to tone down the hyperbole. That's been an issue for me actually, coaches talking about 'television history' and comparing acts to established artists. It just feels far too self-important for its own good. The show needs to lighten up a bit and not take itself too seriously.

I also think having acts performing on alternate weeks for the first four weeks is a problem. You need audiences to invest in these people and you restrict that from happening when they're not on every week.

I do think many of these issues are fixable though.

Homeland has been incredibly consistent. C4 will be delighted with that.

Of course it had no real credibility - just another bit of "negative publicity" that balances out against the press reports the BBC were lapping up a few weeks ago.

I wouldnt call it "negative" publicity. Its the only spontanaeous action on the show at the moment.

I dont think so...last Year it wasnt much higher but Tonight its out of it's slot with a repeat as a lead in.

There's no way it'll go that low. EE never ever goes below 5-6m even against the toughest competition, and neither does Corrie. The soaps ratings are highly variable but they all have a very robust core at the heart of those ratings which stops them from ever going below the 5-6 mark.

The BBC3 repeat rating is one to watch though, it'll come in very handy tonight for viewers.

I think EastEnders will make 7million tonight. BGT will make around 9.5million.

EastEnders has gone below 5M against BGT in 2010 & 2011 So it is possible. BBC 3 Repeat record is 1.8m ( Enders main showing clashed with BGT) I wonder if it can set a new record?

EastEnders will probably get around 5.5 tonight with an additional 1.2 on BBC3

Of course it will be down as it is up against a Chelsea final in primetime, but lets see how much hysteria there is here anyway. I have been taking names down, to see who will have faux surprise anyway. You are top of the list Ken

For a while it did not look like there would be a snooker session tonight, but there will be at least 3 frames tonight. So something else to throw into the ratings mix.

Apologies I was getting ahead of myself there. Of course it is the BGT final this Saturday. So Ken thinks the show will lose well over 1m viewers week on week for the live performance show against poor opposition, if it does drop below 7m I will be sure to apologise profusely. But I can't see it happening for at least another week.

Well deserved, too. Best acting in a drama in ages. The BBC could have got great figures for this show if they had seen the potential. But seem to have been scared off anything American. But quality is quality whoever makes it.

I noticed in the Mail over the weekend reference to the news that the makers of Spooks are developing a UK version of the latest excellent BBC 4 Scandi drama - The Bridge.

Instead of Denmark/Sweden and a body on the border on the bridge it will be called 'The Tunnel' - as in the UK/France border in the middle of the Channel Tunnel.

Anyone know what UK channel this is being developed for?

Eastenders overnights the past 2 years during BGT week.

2010: 5.1m, 6.2m, 5.0m, 4.3m
2011: 5.2m, 5.8m, 5.7m, 5.0m

I expect tonight it will score about 4.8m-5.0m. The move to 7:30pm will help, however the BBC don't appear to have advertised this slot move and Eastenders has been rating much weaker this year than it has this time last year. Naturally, BBC3 will do well though
