It would be! That's why I don't think she should do XF. I'm sure she'd be pretty good on it, but it would probably be overkill.
It's interesting though as after she got massively slagged off in her first year on Strictly I doubt anyone expected her to be doing as well as she is. She's a much better fit for BGT than Strictly though as she can show her personality much more. BGT is probably a better show than XF for her too.

America's Got Talent premiered in line with recent performances from The Voice and premieres of seasons past but it was 6 tenths lower than last years premiere. Ripe for analysis - last year premiered at the end of May to little competition, paired with The Voice and off extensive promotion during The Voice (which was rating far higher). Last night had season finales on CBS, FOX (Bones) as well as talent show competition in the form of DWTS. However, this season did benefit from extensive promotion and the appointment of Howard Stern to replace Piers Morgan.
One notable element - the Howard Stern effect, perhaps - is that the audience profile is far younger (although important to emphasise that the show did have fewer young viewers!). Although DWTS would have taken proportionately more older viewers anyway so that's potentially part of the explanation. Such significant change in audience profile is potentially concerning in case they've lost "loyal" viewers and some of the new viewers were just checking it out.
At 10pm Smash came to an end for this season with a steady 1.8. DWTS turned in another bleak performance and got hammered by AGT just like it has been hammered every week by The Voice. The Bachelorette doesn't seem to share much of an audience with DWTS - despite halving its inheritance in total viewers, it just about matched DWTS in the demo.
Next week CBS is finished but it's the House series finale and DWTS performance finale against the second week of AGT so it should be a really competitive night with all 3 shows airing 8-10pm and likely to draw 3.?'s.

I think its a little unfair to compare this years season premier of America's Got Talent with last years given the fairly note worthy differences in when and where it debuted and the competition it was facing. All things considered I think NBC have to be pretty overjoyed with that performance and I do wonder if it might tempt them to bring Talent forward next year and maybe, just maybe, spare us a second cycle of The Voice. I'm not holding my breath on that though but this performance does at least suggest it wouldn't completely collapse in the regular season... Obviously though that would leave a big hole over the summer though. Although God knows they've got enough reality formats and producers on the books to be able to fill that.
Elsewhere How I Met Your Mother's season finale noticeably out performing 2 Broke Girls' finale last week. Its been interesting to watch the trajectory of 2 Broke Girls this season. Much like New Girl on Fox is started with a bang and then slowly dropped away throughout the series. It no longer looks like the new shining light of the CBS comedy block that's for sure. I also can't help but wonder if this might be Hawaii Five-0's final Monday episode – Elementary or Vegas feel like good shouts for the slot next year (I'd tip my hat toward Vegas I think with Elementary taking Tuesday night).

I'm surprised some people are sceptical about the ratings for the Olympics.
Remember the General Election leaders debates. Most people said they would be a flop and what did they get? About 8m I think?
The Olympics hype will be on a level completely different to any other event in the UK outside stuff like Royal weddings. It won't be just like the tabloids hyping some talent show. It will be everywhere - probably the lead story on every TV news bulletin and in every single newspaper every day.
If the public are constantly told something is collosal and it is on BBC1 then it will be watched in massive numbers. It will completely blow everything else out of the water.

I think it's a very decent schedule. The solid quota of returning shows (including a good number of sophomores) means there are fewer gaping holes than I remember from last year. I was slightly surprised to see them move Revenge having finally solved the Wednesday @ 10 dilemma. But it's a vote of confidence in the show and they obviously felt happier sending 666 in at 10, rather than 9. The only real shame in my eyes is Last Resort abandoned on Thursdays at 8. But then ABC has no male-skewing night to host it, so it would have felt out of place anywhere with the other shows in that schedule.
Tuesdays are going to have some victims, but ABC obviously felt like they had to fight their ground with comedy. Not sure whether it'll work, but it's clearly the in-vogue format and ABC obviously don't want their block to be pushed out.

Looking at the bits posted on here and the Broadcast Top 100s, I've noticed that The Chase seems to have pulled ahead of Pointless at teatime. Whilst Pointless has dipped a bit since the start of the year (as you'd expect as the evenings get lighter and weather improves), The Chase seems to have broadly held the same audience and now seems to beat Pointless most days. An interesting turnaround considering Pointless was consistently ahead in the Autumn, but both shows are still doing very well.

I agree with that; with the blocks BBC1 has announced, I think only a packed session of athletics featuring the 100m final and other potential Team GB medals is going to average 10m.
But there will be many occasions when 10m+ are watching BBC1 during the fortnight, and I will fall off my chair, eat my hat, then run down the street naked if the Opening Ceremony doesn't peak at over 20m at some point in the night.
It's going to be massive, and the ratings for the arrival of the Torch this coming Friday will be fascinating.

Unfortunately i don't think we can expect much from Friday - i certainly won't use that as an indicator of ratings for the Olympics. It's branded 'The One Show', not even 'The One Show Special' which seems a bit stupid. Hopefully there will be a small boost, but i won't expect much.
The Olympics will KILL the competition during morning/afternoon.
Going into primetime though it will be a different story. I suspect it'll just depend on what is on the other channels and what competitions are being shown that night.
Remember all the papers will be geared for the Olympics as well; with the BBC fully behind it - expect people to know what competitions are on and any stories behind them

I don't think for a single second that BBC1 will be below average. Maybe the first Monday 8-8.30 might be below average, but that is pretty much it IMO. Every other moment IMO will be well above, including evenings, and sometimes massively above.
Don't forget some of the biggest moments happen in the evening - especially during the second week. BBC1 will dominate for 19 hours a day - i'd be surprised if anything ever beats it. Maybe Corrie in the first week but nothing else.
Indeed, the ratings will be massive at certain points and just big at others. I've booked some days off work so I'll be tuned in.

I don't think its a terrible schedule (although I don't think its a great one either). I do however think they've made some strange decisions.
After years of trying they finally find a stable(ish) quasi-hit at Wednesday 10PM so what do they do? Move it to a completely different time and day weirdly sandwiched between two shows it has very little in common with so you can try launching yet another new drama in what has been a death slot for you.
They pick up Last Resort in the hope that it might skew more male (relative to the rest of their schedule) and opt to pair it with Grey's Anatomy on Thursday against comedy that appeals to male viewers and reality that'll dominate with female viewers. Plus it'll offer absolutely no compatible lead-in support for Grey's which is going to have to contend with an X Factor/Idol boosted Glee for female viewers.
Castle is still being propped up by Dancing with the Stars.
And that doesn't even get into them scheduling comedy in that 9PM hour on Tuesday, keeping Dancing results opposite The Voice results where it was getting hammered, putting Private Practice on the Fall schedule and renewing Body of Proof which has proven to be completely lead-in dependent.

I agree, I think they've produced a pretty decent schedule especially as it was reported that they were unhappy with a lot of their pilots. Which why I think Body of Proof got a recommission for mid season.

I don't think the 8pm slot is that much of a problem tbh. Flash Forward [4.,2], V [5.1] and Once upon a time [4.2] and Lost all had difficult 8pm slots and as the demos in brackets show, they all launched well. I think the audience is there for the right Show [ie not awful Charlies Angels remakes
], the problem will be to retain them as Flashforward and V showed.

I think Happy Endings/Apt23 should air at 8 as the Fox comedy's in the 8pm hour are quite weak imo. I'm surprised Fox are letting Raising Hope launch the night tbh.
ABC usually tinker with their schedules quite a bit between Upfronts and Autumn. Usually delaying launches [they waited until late October to launch OUAT]. etc.
So I wouldn't be surprised to see DWTS results move to 9 with a recap show beforehand for the first few weeks of the season.
