The promo though was almost exactly the same as the current TOWIE promos - and ITV2 viewers don't seem to have enough sense to leave that alone!

I don't see the point in it being on Sky Atlantic, stick it on Sky One and strengthen the main channel.
It won't lead to people flocking to Sky and being on Atlantic will hit ratings/press (even with Sky-subs as he doesn't fit what the channel advertises).

Its silly imo. But we'll watch and see I guess.
(I suspect its more to do with how the channels are budgeted; Sky One can't afford/justify another show like this; Sky Atlantic can - which is why its a bad idea to call it 'Sky Atlantic' )

Sky Atlantic is already not doing what it says on the tin with This Is Jinsy and Hit And Miss. You may argue it won't lead to people flocking to Sky - and you may be right - but that is clearly the strategy: use high profile commissions to help drive Sky subscriptions.

Will that work? Who knows ...

I don't think the BBC can afford to completely turn away the non-sports audience for two-and-a-half weeks, so it's important to keep BBC Two primetime Olympics free, and use most of that BBC Two primetime for mainstream stuff such as EastEnders, not just chin-stroking, minority appeal documentaries, or endless cookery programmes.

The BBC is there to cater for all tastes, and that doesn't stop being the case because the Olympics are taking place,

Looks like Sinbad, the most expensive original commission in Sky's history, will air on Sundays. Think transmission is scheduled for July.

Also news today of an intriguing commission for Sky Arts, featuring Daniel Radcliffe and Jon Hamm. Will be part of the 'Playhouse Presents' series which has launched strongly for the channel.

Not just chin-strokers!

Maybe I'm a right wing head scratcher then so. Anyway BBC2 is sometime tolerable although its a bit too personality lead - they cant do any documentary without having that Cox guy, Reeves or Peston posturing & preening to the camera every 30 seconds.

Im happy Channel5 have got their hands on Person of Interest, the best drama to come out of American broadcast television this year. But a July launch is risky because of the Olympic Games and non-compatible lead in from Big Brother.

Well done ITV - send people over to BBC1 at eight so they won't come back and put a Royal-themed show opposite what's surely going to be the most-watched bit of the entire weekend.

In other news, some stuff in Broadcast about C4 and how they're still desperately looking for a new returning drama and apparently they think they haven't properly replaced Teachers, which ended seven years ago, and want something like that. Apparently Jay Hunt said Embarrassing Bodies was unsuitable for Friday so we seemingly won't be seeing anything like that in that slot again, and Hunt also says The Mad Bad Ad Show had "execution problems", presumably meaning everyone involved should be executed.

Digiguide has a 1h35 min TBA before The Voice: another animated blockbuster will slot in there I reckon. I just wonder if they'll put Toy Story 3 there? Just short of two years after its US release, and the running time fits (1h43 at the cinema would translate roughly to a 1h35 min slot).

You'd think it would be kept until Christmas, but they do need that lead-in! And at Christmas they've still got How to Train Your Dragon and Shrek Forever After (both Dreamworks) and Up! (Pixar) stored up.

Tonights The One Show has been plugged so much, it should be gettng 5million+ as the Olympic Flame has landed on British shores, how exciting !

Maybe, but it's opposite an England match so it might not do much.

5 million as an absolute minimum - I think a fair bit more as an average, and a 7m peak for 19.30-45, denting Corrie in the process.

Surely another repeat. You are right about all those other ones stored up. But they all seem more likely for that slot. Toy Story 3 fits the Christmas mood perfectly.

Basically - Sky should divide the shows they have across all their channels and ditch the whole channel...

A decent grab by them though. Still, it'll perform poorer there than on Sky One. What is it doing there?”

What's wrong with putting it on Sky Atlantic?

And now i don't mind EastEnders being moved out of it's slot for this kind of thing (I don't mind anyway) It's nice to have some LIVE Music on Primetime BBC1 and we get an Hour-Long Wednesday EastEnders

Don't know what this show is, but some BBC English Regions have had a show with exactly the same title

I suppose that makes more sense than moving it to BBC2 as I'd guess it will have a large crossover audience with the river pageant

Odd there is a full hour of news on Monday, but not on Tuesday. The jubilee events on Monday take place after 5.30pm - but on Tuesday they take place before 5.30pm yet the news is shorter

I guess the BBC News at 10 is as normal on the Tuesday with the highlights being at 10.35pm

Why is there an extra hour, when only a half-hour is being displaced from its slot (Monday 4th's)? Is there a big story on the Wednesday?

They have A BIG wedding/Exit/Death plot running but not sure if it's that week. I assume the Extra 30mins weds ep is to make up for a missing episode the following week?

Euro 2012 begins on the Friday, so normal soap scheduling gets thrown out the window.
