Paige Turley Appreciation Thread

One of my favorites from the auditions and on tonight's semi final.

Anyone else a fan?

She's a very good singer but I'm a bit bored of singers and street dancers, we have enough programs for that. I want to see more variety acts get through.

Well, she's 14 and this is an appreciation thread. She's too young for X Factor anyway, there's nothing wrong with a few good singers.

I hope she gets through, I really liked her audition

I like her well mannerd young girl that performed well in her Audition as long as her nerves hold she will be in the top 3 imo.

She was given an awful song and that sunk her I'm afraid.

For a young girl she showed a lot of maturity tonight and was a credit to he family and herself.

She must have big support. It may have come from a Scots loyalty/ tween combo vote. I wouldn't have been surprised if she beat the dancers and came second in the public vote.

She's a credit to her family. Took her defeat like a pro

What a beautiful young "lassie" and a wonderful singer too. I think 14 is too young to enter this business but I hope we see her again in a couple of years.

She did indeed take defeat like a pro, and I sometimes marvel at how well these kids do take rejection on the chin (can you imagine your nerves standing on that stage in front of millions of people when you're being judged like that??) whereas adults (mainly the guys actually) aren't above crying for themselves.

Yes, yes. Us Scots will vote for anything and anyone from our own country (yep, anywhere in Scotland, we don't care where they are from, everyone is our "neighbour" you see), even if we don't like them, such is our sense of patriotism and stupid partisan ways.

I'm pretty certain she came second. A gracious young lady indeed.

Does she remind anyone else of a very young Olivia Newton John?

Yep....I had to walk 7 miles to the nearest phone box and stand in a queue with my fellow scots to get a chance to repeatedly vote for the scottish lassie.

As for the lassie herself, as others have stated, she is a credit to her family and the mature way she took being voted out was lovely to see.

She came across as a lovely person and such a good singer. I was hoping Simon would vote for her because I was sure she'd have beaten the dancers in the public vote and made it to the final but obviously it wasn't meant to be.
She took the rejection so well, even congratulating Jonathon and Charlotte on her way by.
I hope we haven't seen the last of little Paige.

Well everyone likes to throw that in if a Scottish, Irish or Welsh contestant does well, so I thought I would!!

Yes, a lot of people do, and they're all muppets. Don't you find it odd that nobody ever says "so and so will be getting all the English votes."??

True! But anyway, Paige obviously came across well. I think Simon wanted to put her through but was probably aware that dance acts are stuggling this year and he wanted a couple in the final.

She sang a dreary song. Needs to learn more about music and entertainment. But definite potential so in a few years time I'm sure we'll see her again.

Yep, agree with what you say here. I think she has a lot of potential.

Was it just me, or did anyone else find that Paige and others who were made to stand on top of a high table (why?) seemed to suffer from poor acoustics?

She seemed a very sweet girl, and I'm sure with some decent training she could become a very pleasant singer. As already mentioned, the way she accepted defeat was a credit to her.

I think coming to London and being treated like a celeb and then signing on live TV was enough of a prize for her. I don't think that I've seen anyone look less disappointed about being knocked out of a competition.

I actually agreed with Alesha and Amanda, she did't really go up in performance which is a shame because her first performance was nice. Overall though I think it was right for the Latin dancing couple to go through over her but I think she has a bright future and as a 14 year old, arguby has more time to improve her craft and opportunity of a longer laster career (though obv that isn't def). But she can aways apply for XFactor in a couple of years or maybe launch a career off the back off social media as the likes of artists did via the help of youtube, myspace, twitter, you name it.

I think she wa a lovely girl, well mannered and a credit to her family.
