How do I make a splint for a cat

My cat who is only young has developed a limp and I want to make a splint for him. How do I do this?

Are you for ****ing real?

Take it to the vets! Find out what is actually wrong with it. A splint is hardly going to help a cat with an infected cut on its foot. In fact, a DIY splint will probably do more harm than good. If you are skint, take it to the PDSA

sorry I read that as spliff. Its probably a good cure for a stiff leg too. Ah, I kill myself

Sorry parley, I agree, don't mess about with splints - abscesses in paws can turn very nasty and need antibiotics to prevent that. If you're short on cash ring the vet and discuss it with them, they might let you pay later or work with a local charity who can loan or pay the vet directly.

Please don't do any DIY treatments or give the cat any medications without seeing a vet. If you suspect it is an abscess and not a broken bone you can bathe with warm salty water but that's it till you see a professional.

I just felt sorry for it and thought I could try something

The best thing you could try is take the cat to the vet's. I took my cat to the vet every time she developed a limp and every time it turned out she had fractured a bone, twice needing surgery. Splints, if not applied properly, will do more harm than good.
