I just don't get them. you've got one trappy girl with silly hair trying to be Lady Gaga with a bunch of lads. I can't understand it... can anybody explain their appeal and why they are different to the (too) many dance groups we've seen

All of these dance groups bore me to tears. They're all doing stuff we've seen before. I hope to god that there aren't more than 2 in the final

Ive seen paint drying that was more interesting.

Incidentally, why do all these dance groups seem to come from within the M25? ....... innit.

No no no, the most over rated act was the dog. It's no different then any other dog act i have seen and it amazes me how these kind of stupid acts always get through.

Thanks guys, all of the judges said it was the best dance group of the night???? I was looking thinking what?? then when they came out and said that I asked myself what have I just watched because it looked like a mishmash.

Thank you, I thought I was the only one. I just don't get it!!!
If I was the guys in that group I'd b a little annoyed. They seem to do most of the graft and the main girl gets all of the praise....not right!!!

hahah Sydney never thought of that but you do have a point when she opened her mouth, it was all done for effect.

Didn't enjoy it at all, seemed little if any dancing in the act from what I saw, just a lot of blokes hovering around a girl.

No idea why Charisma Crew are getting all the stick. Both bored me to tears but at least they had some partially interesting things going on.

Caren and Cissy YES!!! you've both said exactly what I was thinking and Scott, don't start having a go at Pudsey again lol!

Ok they are different because the majority if not all have or are studying at Urgang which is a dance academy in Islington.I'm not 100% sure but most study either three year diploma or three year degree. Urdang have had people do quite well in So You Think you can dance. to get in to Urdang dancers would have had to audition, most dance colleges expect audition eyes to do a ballet, contemporary, jazz class, perform a monologue and sing. they will be competing for a very limited number of places, could be as low as 70, there could be about1500 auditionees.
they provide dancers for the West End, Backingdancers on TV shows, touring productions and so on. those doing a degree get funding via student finance, those doing diploma may get funding via Dance and Drama awards (DADA) if they don't get funding for the diploma it costs about 7k to do the course then you have the cost of housing and living on top. the dancers at Urdang with study all genres of dance, music and theatre, the male dancers are known for their tricks. They day may well start with the gym at 8am and the day may not finish until 8pm

the street dancers obviously love their genre but many are still at school and can't put the same hours in. as a group they can probably only get together after school/college and at weekends. these are the people that may just stick to the one genre and have limited work in this field

Ps, the reason I know is because my son is at a rival dance college, who like all of on here ( including myself) thought Urdang, sorry Four Corners were crap

well after what we've seen tonight blimey I don't even know how many acts apart from J&C you could want to put through to the top three - at least Pudsey can stand on 2 legs and look interesting, think I'm bored shiteless with these dance groups

Basically all the dance groups have been overrated this year apart from T&P company.

Thanks Tigra for your reply; I still don't think that makes them any different to the dance groups and in fact it makes it worse that they are being professionally trained. I just didn't gel with that tonight and I didn't at their audition. There was no structure or theme so I was surprised at what the panel said at the end.

They are over rated but not the most over rated , they were VERY synchronized but it didn't blow me away.

Thing is, it's the training that makes them different to the other dance groups (not the Latin dancers). Four Corners came out and did a piece of commercial dance which would fit and show as backing dancers. in my opinion they have treated this show in the same way Urdang approach an annual event called Move It when all the Dances colleges take to the stage to do a show dance. only thing is what they do at move it is usually better that what they did tonight. mind you some say they were as good as usual at Move it this year......

street dancers don't have the training but are good gymnasts, they interpret the music in a comic way and go for impact.

we all
Loved it when we first saw it with Diversity but now it is starting to tire.
one thing I would say is that the people involved with Street Dance really love it and give it their everything

They seem more professional and polished than the other dance acts. I was amazed that they weren't in the top 3 actually.

The choreography was very dull and unoriginal. Let's face it, if the girl hadn't been up front and centre swishing her hair, they would have been in danger of getting buzzed.
