Could the Kelly Rowland Quitting Saga be a "work" (PR Stunt)
So I have been thinking about this whole Kelly Rowland thing and after seeing her in the paper today it got me thinking that this could actually be a PR Stunt?
The more I think about it, the more I think it that could be a possibility? Think about, they have still not made an announcement yet about the judging panel on both the UK and US X Factor, everything at the moment is all hear say, and let’s not forget the amount of names that were bounced around as replacements for Cheryl, Dannii and Simon last year before they announced the final panel line up. If Dannii or whoever was too signed as Kelly’s replacement, surely they would of kept up with momentum and announced it already. I could see this playing out in two ways:- The producers of X factor UK, haven’t been able to secure Danni, Katy or whoever and they have crunch talks with Kelly’s management team and we see her securing a deal to re-join the UK Judging panel just before the Liverpool auditions. OR In a recent article, Ms Rowland mentioned that she was about to sign a major deal for a US TV show, could this mean that she has taken a seat on the US X Factor? Also Simon mentioned that he is looking to find a US equivalent to One Direction, could this be a way that they could bring in Kelly, as she was one third of one of the leading Girl Groups in history? Also let’s not forget that she was the one that Little Mix should sing accapella and do an EnVogue number I am probably reading into to this way to much, however think about it logically for a second and this isn't the first time that Simon has supposedly fired and re-hired someone? This is just me playing devil’s advocate ![]() All positive comments are welcome. Let me know what you think?? |

I don't know if it's a PR stunt
Personally, I think Kelly didn't quite make an impact on the UK show (once the live shows started). Perhaps Kelly didn't entirely enjoy her time on the show? (I'm speculating, I don't know). But I think she genuinely has just walked away. She hasn't been fired as such, she's just not re-signed a contract. If Simon does put her on the US panel, I don't think it would be a big deal over here. |

I think for such a stunt to have any kind of impact, it would have to be someone who's sacking causes a furore for more than a few days. No one really cares that she's gone anymore.

I don't feel Kelly made much of an impact, nor did people like her much. Despite winning a best judge award.
Also, I don't think she liked it much and prefers to focus on her singing career. |

Wait, I don't dislike Kelly at all. I meant that Kelly got a lot of negative criticism and some people didn't like her.I meant It was unfortunate that she was unlikeable to some people and is probably not going to be used to a pr stunt.

Basically if she has quit, why would they still keep pushing this story (unless it's a slow news week lol).

I think she quit because, despite being on the country's biggest TV show every week and doing a performance, her album still flopped.. it wasn't benefiting her career so she quit.

Kelly didn't generate that much free publicity last year and add to that, the fact the ratings went down. If Simon wants to bring the ratings up...which he does...then he needs to do something. Gary, Louis and Tulisa are staying. That only leaves Kelly's place on the panel. He needs someone in that seat who will gets lots of press and bring in the viewers.

It's irreverent to compare how Kelly's last album performed over here while she was a judge, when fact still remains is, she is still the most successful judge to ever sit on the UK panel so far, in terms of global sales, awards and an actual international career, she was also the judge who came from the biggest band then all the other judges.
People love to knock artists recent chart performances, if it weren't great to the previous chart success like it matters but honestly, I don't think she even cares about not returning as a judge, she doesn't need it for career gain like Tulisa because she's already achieved a whole lot more for the past 15 yrs + she's been making music and she's made enough money, so who really cares about where her last album charted in the UK, as she's American, the US Charts would be her main concern anyway. I didn't know to become a judge on X Factor is all about chart positions and media coverage, to qualified to sit on the panel, as some posters would have you believing that's what it takes. |
