Much improved I thought. Very much living up to the promise it showed in the first season.

Hope it continues.

Sadley the season 2 premiere was down over 20% then the season 1 premiere...strange since many sites predicted it would end up premiering higher then season 1

It was up against the NBAs which got very high ratings. It's ratings are still good and it should still get renewed.

They were okay, definitely better than anything in the first season. But amazing? Really? It was still very slow paced, and while I enjoyed it, I can imagine them getting the overall pace the same as season 1 - ie. wrong. Shame, as the concept really does have a lot of potential.

Honestly, that's not the greatest recommendation considering how pedestrian the first season was.
Personally, I plan to look in on this thread from time to time to see if the show is worth watching at UK pace.
I watched the first few episodes of series #1 and was very disappointed, so I'm not planning on spending time on series #2 unless it's raised its game a lot.

It was much improved, the visuals were better and I liked the fact that they've become nomadic again and it's looking a lot darker than it did.

Still no real picture as to why the ailens arrived, that scene with Tom reminded some what of the scenes in Torchwood with the 456. They had just come for something but we as yet still don't know what.

My only real problem is some of the characters haven't moved on much and the writing isn't tight either. I know they've reduced some of the characters, but they could have done with taking away some more, and focusing on a few rather than many.

I never got past episode 3 in the first season, and episodes 2 & 3 I skimmed through there was so much 'thoughtfulness' and 'human drama' (aka cheap)! Utterly dreadful writing, meh acting, nonsensical things happening, very blatant 'you should feel tense now' moments, and...well I wont clog the thread up with my feelings. Did anywhere in season one explain how the aliens defeated the worlds military but can't deal with a few hundred inept people?

I'll watch the season 2 pilot, perhaps the show will offer me ~something~

I'd agree I thought they where ok..perhaps bordering "good".
I like the special effects, much better than the 1st season imo.
They must be careful they don't go down the TeraNova route and bore us all with the family slow paced drivel.
It all feels a bit safe still, needs a bit of the fear factor installing.

Season 2 picks up where Season 1 left off, and that's not a good thing.

The CGI has got worse, there is more detail which i give it credit for but they didn't even bother to sort out the white outline around the figures. Looks amateurish.

Boring, inane, safe chatter made a untriumphant return. The eye thing with the parasite was ridiculously dumb, 1)there should have been more blood and obviously 2)he would be blind in that eye.

But nope, just a few scratches. Brilliant.

Should i mention the oppression part?Oh how that made me grin. Mention the Nazis, but not the Europeans/Americans who forced the native American Indians into conservation?

Okay Spielberg. Now i see the agenda and where your series is going. 2 episodes is enough for me.

The impression I got was that the aliens arrived to put down mankind.

They had decided from reviewing Earth History that man was too violent to be allowed to continue on their own and they must be wiped out with just a few survivors allowed.

That was when your man then said if Humans were bad for all their murder what did it make the Aliens!

I dont disagree with what you are saying but the alien DID mention the Trail of Tears in the same scene when mentioning the Nazis

I did wonder why there seemed to be no mention of Native Americans but obviously missed this bit.

Overall a pretty good start to the season, hopefully they can keep things at this level for the rest of the Season unlike Season 1.

I've seen some speculation that Old Redeye Skitter may be playing his own game against the Fishhead Overlords.

If so he was still quiet happy to gun down 20 odd humans before letting Tom escape.

Ok i read on wikipedia (not reliable source i know!) that hal is 16 yrs old! i thought he be at least 18 and i thought ben was about 16, but he's 14 i think. And to think hal and margaret could have a thing judging the flirting between them just makes me laugh. Oh and i wanted ben and lourdes to get together as they look the same age but i guess not. They could at least cast actors that look the age just not believable.

ANYWAY, on to the 2 episodes of season 2 it was ok i guess, id give it a shot, but i find myself drifting asleep in some scenes...

I was impressed with the opening 2 episodes. They seem to have addressed a few of the complaints from the first season. Being constantly on the move adds a sense of danger that wasn't there when they were at the school, and they got rid of Rick, which is a big plus as the kid was a terrible actor and inconsistent character. Sounded like he ran off rather than died, so I guess he'll be back at some point. Less history lessons and less in-your-face religion, as well.

The new guy being with Lourdes is creepy. She looks way to young to with a guy his age. As for Hale, I'd much rather they hadn't mentioned his age in the previous season - there is no way he passes as 16, and it will be equally creepy when he and Margaret get together. Also not keen on Ben as a character, so the fact that he is being used more is a bad thing for me.

Slightly concerned that the next few episodes will slow down for budgetary reasons, but still a good start to the season.

One more thing to add - Pope was right to blow the bridge. I'm not sure we're supposed to think that, but he was definitely right to do it.

I must be a glutton for punishment since i watched the first two episodes of season two despite hating the first season. I agree with the people saying that so far it's better than season one, but that's not saying much.

So, Tom's recovered from his bullet-wound but has not said anything about his time with the aliens, and hasn't even brought up the offer of human reservations? He just made the decision for the entire human race?

The correct decision that no-one would disagree with.

They'll get around to what happened on the ship once they reach the airport. They didn't have time to talk about it while the Skitters/Mech's were closing in on them.

I actually despise Connor Jessup (Ben)
He is one of the worst actors on tv at the moment

So....Tom and Weaver are leading the 2nd Mass to Charleston - a place with hot water and electricity....

Sounds like the neutral zone to me. Oh dear.

Shame they killed Jimmy. Or, shame he and Ben hadn't been cast in the opposite roles. That Connor Jessup is fu**ing dreadful!

Pope has gone for another mid-season walkabout. Wish the writers would be more consistent with him. He's right to be wary of Tom but the plan to get rid of him this week was unbelievably stupid. And now he's gone again.
