No. He's a child for gawds sake.

Ouch - Nice! I think that they'll have tried to prepare him for the Hollie Steel pressures that would await, especially after his audition.

Other children have been ok though. Two of Diversity were really young when they won and so was Stavros Flatley.

No.

Nothing nice or entertaining about seeing anybody upset especially a child.

No of course not but wouldn't be surprised if he did, as it must be very nerve wracking.

I'm no fan of kid singers by a long shot, but I would hate to see this lad 'do a Hollie' and cry. It's just uncomfortable viewing seeing a kid who is too young for the pressure crack up on live tv.

No - firstly and most importantly it's cruel and Malakai doesn't deserve to have people hoping he'll breakdown.

And (selfishly) he's more likely to pick up the sympathy vote if he does have a breakdown.
Thank you

What does that matter? For some reason the public can't get enough of supposedly cute kids warbling a love song, especially if they cry.

I hope he doesn't because no kid deserves that, but then perhaps it would mean they'd introduce a lower age limit which would be a good thing in my view.

WONT SOMEBODY THINK OF THE CHILDREN? And yes I love a bit of car crash telly.

I remember... it was terrible to watch... not because I thought Hollie was upset but because she was throwing a tantrum... well that's my view... as a mum I can distinguish betweeen tantrum and true upset.

Props to Simon though (not that I'm a fan), he managed to squeeze in a retry... and when speaking about it some time later he said it DID give him a dodgy time because of the constraints of not overruning into the news

Kids generally have nerves of steel. I'm sure with a bit of coaching he'll be fine. Holly cried because she forgot her lyrics and f--ked up. It was more a tantrum than distress in my opinonion.

Why would anyone in their right mind hope to see a child break down on a show just to get a cheap laugh? That's just plain nasty - what is wrong with some people?

I thought Malaki cried because he actually started singing some very flat notes & then the realisation hit him that he was singing badly in the biggest moment of his life & it overwhelmed him.

I'd also like to know why it was deathly silent in the auditorium when he walked on. Normally the audience clap an act on but there was nothing but an eerie silence which would make it far more intimidating.

And yet, I'll bet they cheered him.

There is something very bizarre about how this show is edited....

He is a sweet lad with a nice voice and I wish him well but if the panel have picked on other singers in the semi finals for showing their nerves I'm worried for him.
Maybe he will be the one act who gets a second chance should he crumble. The judges may not be so kind in the semi final.

Meh he's so overrated, obviously good for 9 but we don't really need more singers! But as has been said, if he has a breakdown he's more likely to go through I'd say, like Hollie Steel. Bit harsh to wish it on the lad though, him only being 9.

He seems a sweet little boy, and so far his mother hasn't come across as a pushy parent, so I hope he does well.

Poor Hollie and her parents made my toes curl.
