I did think that, as the editing is always horrendous. However, watching it again, although it's difficult to see, there doesn't appear to be any movement at all from the audience like people are clapping.

It's really strange. There were a couple of posters who have said they were at this audtion & I was hoping they could respond.

Were they asked specifically to remain silent or did they just not hold up the boards to tell them to applaud so they didn't? Whatever the reason I'm intrigued.

The lad had performed on stage before & you can guarantee that when he did he was at least applauded when he walked on. He will also have watched BGT previously & seen acts welcomed on by the audience.

The producers will have known this so why on the biggest stage of his life would they create such an unusual, eerie & intense atmosphere for him? It doesn't make sense.

My really cynical side's even suggesting that, knowing he was susceptible to stage fright, the producers wanted to make it uncomfortable for him so he'd balls up his first song but he could then come back & blow them away with his second song (knowing he'd sing that better anyway) creating that dramatic, memorable TV moment the producers crave. But surely that's too far, even for someone as ruthless as SCowell!

I thought it was a bit stupid them putting him through considering his melt down at the auditions and the history of Hollie.

Im not "hoping" for it to happen but I wont be surprised if it did happen. That poor lad I do feel for him, if it does happen it will be horrible to watch
