Oh dear, Britains Got Talents ratings have plumetted to just 6.9million viewers last night, its worst ever ratings for a live show !

Why is BGT getting so bad ratings for its live shows this year? The Ratings people say its down 2million viewers from last year and ratings are going down every night: Saturday: 9.8m, Sunday: 9.0m, Monday: 8.3m, Tuesday: 6.9m

No, the results show averaged only 6.9m. Only the average matters.

No it didn't. Main show only got 7.8million viewers on average. Itv press centre only tweet peaks, but the average was below 8million which is low for a main show.

I've never understood this idiotic obsession with peak viewing, so what if someone watches 5 mins of something, thats not proper viewing what about the other 25 mins.

Main show had 7.8m viewers average.

If that is true that is very low imo especially for a Cowell show.

You have to take into account that there was nothing really in competition with it, so to get 8m is shocking

The Voice has been slammed and they have been getting 8m nearly all the time, and you have to remember that's a new show.

Meh, I'm not worried. For a show 6 years in and still thrashing the opposition proves it's still in rude health. We need to stop comparing to other series as so many factors change. It'll bounce back tonight - Tuesdays are infamous for being awful, ratings wise. For a show that can still regularly attract peaks of over 9 million is fantastic, especially in comparison to all other shows at the moment.

But dont you think Simon Cowell and Itv will be worried that 2million fewer people are watching this year? What could be the reason for 2million people deciding this year that BGt isnt for them?

Well not really. What is else is on? BGT should be getting higher with all the Cowell hype, especially with this panel ''the best ever'' like everyone is saying

Personally I am worried that it has getting that many - does no one have a life?

IIRC the semis are usually shown over half term week, that may well have a bearing on it as it's not school hols.

Why is there always an excuse when a Cowell show gets low ratings, but for everyone else, it's because they are rubbish i.e. the voice, idol etc....

Same thing with Xfactor last year. Maybe people are just getting bored and not tuning in?

He's probably realised that TV habits have changed with all the catch up services being widely available, even more so than last year.

The likes of BGT, The Voice, Doctor Who, The X Factor and the soaps have all experienced declines yet remain the most talked about shows. I just think there's a decline in the amount of people watching TV at the moment. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think anything on TV has achieved 12 or 13 million viewers this year (I think Becky's CS exit wasn't too far off though).

I wouldn't be surprised if the Results Show was significantly less, I mean the results are so goddamn obvious. lol
