Anyone else having these type of glitches?
I get those all the time on honeycomb!

Well, as you all know from my posts, I had reservations about using the methods on these forums to update my UK Xoom to ICS 4.0.4 as I just did not want to brick my precious tablet. In the end, this evening, it all got the better of me and using the instructions found within the Xoom forums my Tablet is now running ICS. All in all I suppose it took about 50 minutes and concluded without a hitch.

Have now been playing around with it for a couple of hours without problems.

More annoying is the lack of r/w access on a mounted sd card for 3rd party apps. Only the file transfer app can write to the sd card now, and that lacks a rename function.

Was it really that easy, which instructions did you use? Is it worth doing?

You need to follow these instructions precisely. And you need to back up your data before doing anything.

When you have executed the above instructions your Xoom will reboot and then it will be followed by 5 or 6 OTA updates, after which you will have ICS 4.0.4 on your machine. You will then need to restore your Apps and data but that is a doddle as well as it turns out. In all and because I made sure I had the uninterrupted time and didn't rush, it probably took me about 1 hour.

I did this yesterday afternoon and the Xoom has been in use today for work. I definitely think it's far nippier and the fact that apps can be put in 'drawers' or 'folders' makes life a lot easier. I quite like the swipe option on the recent apps button.

All in all a good experience and nowhere near as frightening as I thought it would be.

Go for it. As I say, it really isn't as scary as it's made out providing you follow those instructions to the letter.

Good luck and let us know how you get on.

I still need to get round to putting it on my HP touchpad, - I hope it's worth the effort

4.04 on an original 7" tab. Dolphin does stop working occasionally and there are graphical glitches mostly with text corruption. It is AOKP though and not even close to finished.
