The viewers weren't given specific parameters on which to base their votes. If a viewer did feel that the contributions on one team were lopsided (and I'm not saying that they were, or that any viewers did vote on this basis), they can choose to reflect that or not in their vote. Speaking of the celebrity sponsors, I heard that one or two of the choices caused some issues. Can anybody tell me about that? |

@Mr XcX: I didn't mean to offend with my query - I was just stating that I think it was a bit unfair because your question was worded as if you doubted my contribution solely because I wasn't around to post; plus you have asked questions in the past where people haven't been around to post & didn't single anybody out then.

I think the problem was that Ellie Goulding as a celebrity sponsor might not be a first thought when thinking of the Diamond Jubilee but we feel that we had valid responses in picking her.
Quote:
I'm under this influence this is about our decision to include Ellie? If so, then we chose her because we were aware she had performed at the Royal wedding- and these connections to the Royals brought us to the conclusion she would be right for an event such as this!
No, it's not about Ellie - but let's move on.
How did the teams come up with the themes for their events? Reflections, I know that you were initially planning a 'decades' theme like Viveza's - why did you decide not to go with this? |

Originally, we were going to go with the Best Of British theme, but decided it might be a bit too obvious. Jess was the one that suggested the decades and we thought it fit very well.

We had a 'brainstorming' session, in which- the first idea brought to the table was a 'Best of British' theme- which coincidentally the other team thought of (and chose for their final submission). I then suggested we did a 'Decades' theme- given the time period- and when we realised that it all fit together- I believe it was a unanimous decision!

I proposed the 'decades' theme within like, a few minutes of the discussion getting started, and we seemed to be really happy with it! However, the more we discussed themes & the event in general; the more realised that perhaps limiting the tour to such a limited theme could be more of a negative than a positive.
In the pitch we did mention that the theme would still be in place, however less broad as the other teams as we concentrated more on the 'Best of British' side to things - a theme that has proven to be successful in the past; whilst not limiting the tour of the country we had planned as much. |

Reflections, I know that you were initially planning a 'decades' theme like Viveza's - why did you decide not to go with this? The team were unanimous in feeling it was important that the Queen visited all the areas of the UK - N.Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales and whenever we had the Queen in a different area per different day and the Best of British theme, I felt that having a 50's theme in Belfast one day, 60s theme in Glasgow the next, 70's theme somewhere else and so on was overcomplicating it and the team agreed with it so we opted for a Best of British theme instead. |

Reflections, your concept faced criticism for not being perceived as original, but voters praised the level of research and the presentation of your ideas.

In contrast, Viveza, whilst the voters mostly liked your 'decade a day' concept a lot, they felt that you fell down on some of the details.

However, on the whole, voters preferred Viveza's concept, and it received six votes to Reflections' three.

So, well done to Team Viveza! You've done well, and I'll see you all on the next task.
Reflections, a bit of a disappointing result for you, especially after such a detailed presentation. Where do you think the problems lay? |

Well, looking at the comments you have just posted, I would say that the concept was the problem? Especially since our pitch seems to have been praised.

I want to say before the BR goes any further I think Gav and David did good jobs on this task and I literally just don't have the fight in me for the boardroom right now. So you can fire me if you want. I've got exams coming up and one of my close friends died yesterday and if I'm honest I just don't feel I could be bothered doing this game any more based on that, also I was going to quit last week as I've found one or two tasks not this one though very enjoyable to do due to the Boardroom's. I know it's only a game but I'd like to just leave and let Gav and David both stay.
And no this isn't a case of jump before I'm pushed because I have said I was contemplating leaving before and I just think with events that have happened IRL yesterday I don't really have the desire to do the game anymore so you can fire me if you want.
