Help!! Plasma TV & Sky+
synner

Hello all,

I'm thinking about buying a 42" Plasma TV (Got my eye on the LG RZ42PX11).

Which would be the best way to connect this to my sky+ ?

My current setup is Sky+ TV Scart to Philips DVDR70 Scart followed by Philips DVDR70 Scart to TV RGB Scart 1.

The LG plasma has an RGB scart and an SVideo socket. Would I get a better quality video using the SVideo from the sky to the TV and leaving the scarts setup as they are ?

Thanks in advance (I'm quite a newb where AV is concerned!)

You would normally expect to get better quality from RGB than S-video. A few people have reported the opposite in a few special cases but this is not normal.

Does the plasma have component inputs and the DVDR have component outputs (I'm not familiar with yours)? if so that may give better quality (progressive scan) but only when the DVDR is switched on. Otherwise I think you have the best connections.

Thanks bobcar,

I'll connect as is and maybe mess with the connections if things are a little dodgy !

Cheers
