"Hello, is that Pure Evil?"
My favourite line of the series from Tom!
Perhaps it's some sort of rent-a-criminal service? |

Not that I support evil or evilness in real life but I don't think he's basing his evil on that kind of evil.

Whilst watching the board room, my mind was wandering but it was quickly brought to attention when I heard Jade say something like 'the reason we lost was because Pure Evil . . .' I thought she was accusing Tom of being pure evil but quickly remembered. Still funny though. Great name.

Pure means something, good,best,clean. |

No, apparently it means: Not mixed or adulterated with any other substance or material and from an artistic point of view there is: Without any extraneous and unnecessary elements: "pure art devoid of social responsibility".
I just looked it up ![]() What an absolute load of tosh most of the present artworld and those associated with it spout and believe .Most of modern art is just utter ugliness . I lump the ugliness of most modern art, with the ugly modern architecture and the ugly modern atonal music. |

Pure means something, good, best, clean. But when it precedes something, it means something like 100%, nothing but... For example, "Pure evil" would mean "nothing but evil", or "pure alcohol" would be a completely 100% alcoholic solution. |

I'd say 'pure' has a few meanings. It can mean clean, innocent etc.
But when it precedes something, it means something like 100%, nothing but... For example, "Pure evil" would mean "nothing but evil", or "pure alcohol" would be a completely 100% alcoholic solution. Maybe thats where the artist had the motivation to use the word as part of his name now? Other it/in words for example over the years where "Respect" and " Believe" and they too came and went like evil did in the 90's. More like flashes in the pan phrases they where. Believe well got on my nerves, though I am a believer in general! p.s. Just thought they could probably make a new horror film out of that name! (probably has been done before anyway too). Just like "Candyman"....and then the 3 repeats of the word..........! " "

I can't be certain, but the pictures of the eyes bleeding reminded me of the film Seven, where the lawyer's wife's photo on the wall has her eyes bleeding in a similar way - am I right?

Nothing says 'Pure Evil' like a middle aged, middle class man doing some painting...

Personally I rather liked his stuff. It's worth a look at his website for anyone who's interested:
http://www.pureevilclothing.com/ I've also included links to all five featured artists in my episode recap over at http://slouchingtowardsthatcham.com/...-8-street-art/ |

There's a great advert on a Los Angeles radio station that says "94% of our customers would recommend us to their friends. The other 6%? Pure evil."
