Who else thought the begining of the artists programme wasn't explained well?
Weds 9th May one confused me early on when Sugar had sent them off to sell art work and then they showed them going round to companies and the candiadates where asking the companies "what was their budget". I was thinking are they selling art or advertising at that point.
Anyone else get confused by that? It was only when they showed them with the artists it becamed clearer but I think the programme didn't explain the above well at all. |

Don't worry. You are not alone. I was totally confused what they were doing in the streets one time, going into artists house one time, going to into big companies one time and talking about the budget one time.
Lol I started to understand the whole process only when they started to set up the gallery and selling.

I had to repeatedly ask my boyfriend what they were supposed to be achieving with the task and neither of us really understood until the were selling/meeting the companies at the galleries.

It wasn't explained well but as they do this task in most series then it wasn't difficult to follow.
The choice of artists was dire this year. I'm not surprised that Tom's team didn't sell any of the huge canvases. They were rip offs of 50's B Movie posters and painted really badly. His other artist's pictures looked like something from a low budget tattoo parlour. As for Jade's artists: Dr Evil was nothing special - an Andy Warhol rip off with a few black masks (yawn). Nathan's scribbles were hardly stunning either. |

I got totally confused in the boardroom when Sugar was talking about orders and commision.
Nick said the Car company placed an order for £5000 generating a commission of £2,000 . How did you work that out Nick!! Then total gallery sales were £5980 generating a commission of £2442. Both teams were judged on the total commission. I don't remember then explaining how this commission is worked out. |

The narrator said that the commission was 40% of the sale price.

Which ratherb begs the question of why not simply go with the sale price?
Also previous sales tasks have generally taken into account the cost of goods sold. |
