Cooking things you don't like...
Does anyone here cook food you don't like? And if you do how do you check to make sure it tastes "nice"?
For an example if you were making a bowl of hummus for a party you are having with friends, and you dislike it, how would you make sure it was edible for the others that are not there yet? Just something I am curious about. |

Not really. There are things I cook which i don't like very much, but I will still eat it if there is nothing else going. Im not keen on baked beans, but my husband loves them ... so I heat a tin up occasionally. But I would cook an elaborate dinner full of stuff I don't like.

Well I'm a veggie and my husband isn't. So, I go by judgement and ask him to taste/check seasoning etc. my worst nightmare is lamb, kidneys etc!
It stinks! He's banned from cooking certain fish/squid etc - outdoors only! Luckily we have a pizza oven, BBQ & gas cooker or I'd be washing net curtains for a week, not to mention the litres of Zoflora!

I'm a veggie too and husband isn't so either he has to taste it or I just go by what it looks and smells like.

I always have to cook a roast dinner when my in laws come round for dinner as they're pretty unadventurous when it comes to food. I aways end up doing a goat curry or steak chilli for me, my missus and my daughter.

According to hubby the things I cook best are the things I make for him that i don't like! My mushroom soup is his favourite soup ever, and the other week I made him a lamb curry that he said was out of the world. I don't like either.
Also, his friends think he's totally "spoiled" by me cos I make food for him that I don't like. Doesn't seem spoiled for me. |
