Right now back to LMS, Hard Candy album analysis.
Candy Shop - Basically an ode back to her funky routes, some innuendo/word play, single entendres...she is the top lollypop, and she is the willy wonka of the candy store! In other words she is the Queen of the Roundtable
4 Minutes - We are all living on borrowed time, we have all these crisises in the world so lets live for the moment, Madonna is living for her own moment and nobody elses, we come for the ride.
give it 2 me - an ode back to her SYnthpop roots, gimme all you got combat type song, reflecting on Erotica/American Life era backlashes....you gave me my worst so ill give you mine kinda vibe.
Heartbeat - She uses metaphor for music, the music is part of her bloodstream, the heartbeats pound it throughout her body, she lives it, she breathes it, she IS music.
miles away - obviously about distant lovers, her and Ritchie most definitely, the fact she wrote it early on suggested she wanted to get it out of her system early something was up with their marriage.
shes not me - again discussed earlier, could be another defense song, there will never be anyone else like me so make the most of me style!
incredible - self discovery song, the production goes lengthy and awol and changes form and shape, like Madonna herself changes form and shape but then ends up being back to the same.
beat goes on - again a kinda, no matter what she is still on trend, on the same beats and can go on and on no matter what happens....throw this at her, she will throw this back at ya and then some. The staying on trend metaphor and on the same beat is possibly why Kanye is there too...he is on the same trend, the same beat.
dance 2night - an echo back to her Disco past, possibly just nostalgia created which is why to me personally it is my least fave on the album, there is no direct message there. Maybe proving herself to the world?
spanish lesson - a reflection on how cultured she is, her cultural pattern, and the fact she can let loose and have fun, again with metaphors...Madonna is the teacher and we are all the students learning her every lyric, move, style.
devil wouldnt recognise you - an ode to her reinventions, always masked but forever in the public eye. She has flirted and still is flirting with the devil/illuminati conspiracies, forever a threat around every corner, forever her own personal enemy and living with it.
voices - shes the leader not the follower, a message people criticised the album for...is she following rather than leading the pack...the answer....she did both on one disc
