They still have to select where to get the review information from so maybe very open to abuse.

If Wolfram Alpha is for 'normal people' then there is hope.

It will be sold at a loss!

An interesting example of what competition can do. Ultimately I hope this competition will be beneficial for the consumers!

You can get that a 7" Galaxy tab for £200 which is at probably the price of that £200 "another iPad rumour".

These are close to half the weight of the iPad, much smaller and as such are for portability.
With a comprehensive list of features it certainly puts the Amazon Fire to shame.

Where are all the 12" tablets?

There is a 13" Toshiba one on the way

At £150-£200 and with at least 16Gb storage I'd buy one as I find the Touch too small and a 10" tablet too bulky - I've been waiting on the Kindle Fire, but a similar size/price ipad would tempt me...but not with 8Gb unless a card slot was fitted.

You shouldn't worry who makes something

You should if you don't like the firm, I don't like Apple so won't spend money with them. I don't like some of the company ethics, most of the time the products are over priced, their computer hardware is often out of date and non upgradeable, and I don't like the OS. The cost is immaterial as I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford to indulge myself in any 'toys' I fancy

Millions love the company and the pad will sell in truck loads, but not to me; its my money and I'll pick who I spend it with. Besides I want a W8 tablet

I'm now of the thinking that there are major upheavals in Apple's price structure come September.
The Guardian have just run with an article looking at all the times Digital Times has got things wrong with regards to Apple rumours. If they feel the need to do that, then for me, it actually makes it much more likely to happen.

The point being that I trust the Digital Times far more than the Guardian for balanced tech reporting.
With Windows tablet with us and a glut of quality budget tablets creeping through, Xmas 2012 is going to be so ultra competitive.

Except the article isn't in The Guardian - it's in Time. The Guardian's Charles Arthur merely Tweeted a link to it:

Another similar article here: http://www.tuaw.com/2012/05/14/rumor...ble-digitimes/

Why do you think that pointing out Digitimes' *awful* success rate makes it more likely that something Digitimes has reported will end up happening?

Yeah, I don't understand that either

I still can't see Apple make a loss on a product they sell - it's never been the market that they are in

I thought it was reprinted in the Guardian but it was certainly headlined there as 'Fact checking Digitimes' and then also linked.
They must have got a lot right considering much as dug back to 2006 and 2007.

Apple always have 'options' to get to market fast thus that switch to the gas gulling New Ipad screen. So reporting might have been 'right at the time'.

If you want believable rumours Digitimes is still the place to read them.

Ask Siri, it can't lie
It's not doing much for the reputation of "Wolfram Alpha"

Ask Siri again and it will now think you are taking the proverbial.
Siri certainly say's what Apple wants it to.
You can't beat good old written word, even if you have to sift through some 'paid for by marketing' results.

Surely they are working on one for travel to compete with lighter tablets?

The iPad is 50% heavier than the 8.9" Samsung so a small compact unit would certainly be popular with many.
