When show came back after ads, Hollie had an unhappy face, so it's possible she knew she had lost out.

Had a feeling she might go, seeing how much the judges were against her, and some comments made re the American angle says it all.-shakeshead-

I think it was Hollie who should have gone on her performances. Had the American public taken her to heart, she may have been away with it last night, but she was in the bottom three a few times.
Joshua taking it hard.

Hollie was kind of like the Haley Reinhart of this year. The underdog with alot of natural raw talent battling her way to the final few against alot of odds.

Yeah Jennifer Who-pez? Hollie was not the worst despite 2nd song not being great. Did not deserve to go. Who has ever heard of a SINGING competition where singers are voted off in favour of screechers?



That was never going to happen as the judges have already
manipulated too much and the American public fell for it completely. Has anyone else noticed how strange it has been that since Jessica got the least votes that neither her or Joshua have even been in the bottom three? Something strange going on there....Voting fix? No way would she go from least votes to getting so many fans in one week

No way, Haley was annoying and partially the Jessica of this year. Hollie is a better singer than Haley by far.

Did anyone else notice Who-pez and Randy reading from a script under the table? It was so obvious with Who-pez when she is making "her" comments as she looks down so much and it is a reading something look and not just looking down look. Randy was less obvious but still did it a few times as well.

I want Phillip to win now. As the only singer left he HAS to win it. If he doesn't get to the final i am definitely NOT going to watch the show.

I'd sign the top four up as a GROUP !

Imagine how they would dominate the US charts with that combination of talent , personalities and joint fan bases !!

Side note . Who styles Jenny from the block these days ?
I thought her outfit was dire and unflattering . Id have covered up those chunky thighs for starters not emphasise them !!?

The series has gone to plan - I have been praying for a Joshua and Jessica final to have a brilliant sing off between 2 great vocalists. Hopefully Philip will be seriously exposed as been a far weaker singing this week.

Yes - Philip has 'a certain something', but is by far the weakest vocalist. He was off-key during "Have you ever seen the rain?" - murdered a brilliant song

To be honest I think Phillip can barely sing. His voice is either too growly or too muffled. Not a pleasant sound at all.
Whereas I think Jessica and Joshua have proven to be the best technical singers in the competition.
I just wish the judges would stop going barmy over them (particularly Joshua) as it may put people off voting for them.

I think the power ballad is a bit old hat - I certainly preferred it when she didn't over sing. However, she outlasted Skylar, so must have had quite a few fans.

I agree, I'm sick to death of Joshua's frenzied final part of every song. Although I think he's a fine singer, very professional and gifted, he lacks something for me. Fantasia's version of I Believe was so moving, yet Joshua's left me cold. It didn't even sound like the same song.

Not sure who I want to win now. They are all talented, I'm just not emotionally invested in any of them.

Ah well. Glad she went out on a high. The Climb peformance was awesome. The pressure was off and she didn't have to worry about getting judged. Good luck to her for the future, I hope she has a great career after this.

I disagree, I prefer Haley to anyone this year or last year.

I think Elise was the Haley of this year, to be honest, as she had a style that was similar to Haley (even sang a couple of Haley's songs) and got some similarly unfair criticism at times. However, unlike, Haley she wasn't as consistent.

Joshua is my favourite this year so I'm happy to see him in the final three.

Jessica is good, she could be like another Leona as she matures. I'm indifferent to Phillip, he's like a cross between Matt Cardle (style of dress) and Aiden Grimshaw (facial grimaces)

Weakest vocalist? How? He SINGS in a SINGING competition unlike the other two who resort to screeching, shouting and screaming through songs. It is funny you should mention songs being murdered because you'll find Jessica and Joshua have been consistently doing that. Notice how Jessica cannot do up-tempo songs at all and does all the growling to cover it up, weirdly Jimmy even mentioned this as well.


Barely sing? He is the only left who actually DOES sing. Too growly? did you not listen to Jessica last week? Not pleasant sound? Constant screeching, shouting, screaming, growling and average karaoke performances (Joshua, Jessica) are not pleasant.


Final part of the song? He does it through virtually the whole song. When has he ever just stood there and sang without any screeching to cover up he can't hit certain notes? What he lacks is a singing voice and is unable to sing anything without it being karaoke. When he "sang" that song and got the judges comments i was wondering what planet they were on. It was such a desperate thing to do and no way deserved the credit those three gave.

Phillip as the only singer left really is the only person deserving of winning. America kicked out the best vocalist last week unjustly.

Philip does his share of shouting. When he's not shouting he's droning. He likes to take a terrific melody then twist it to such an extent that it sucks all the life out of it and everything that made it a good melody. That's when he's in tune, of course.

His last few performances haven't been too bad but he's been one of my least favourite competitors this year from start to finish.

While the vocal gymnastics of Jessica and Joshua aren't to everybody's taste they can do far more with their voices and cover a far greater range than Philip any day of the week. To suggest that Joshua is trying to cover up an inability to hit certain notes is quite ludicrous. Fair enough if it's not to your taste but to suggest they can't sing is not a credible argument.

I find it ludicrous that you say Phillip is the one who sucks life out of songs. Ok here is an example. Look up Alexandra Burke on youtube and search for Without You and then compare that to Joshua singing it on American idol and you see how bad he really is. Same with Jessica, Look up Alexandra Burke and Listen and compare them. Even Carly Smithson from a few years ago sang Wtihout you so much better than Joshua.

And you talking about being in tune... well jessica has issues with this a lot. And talking about Jessica and Joshua doing more with thier "voices" erm well.... what exactly? Shouting/Screeching/Screaming/Growling is not very much.

I am not suggesting they can't sing. They just can't sing as good as what is being made out and most of the time they don't even sing. And no amount of shouting/screeching etc to cover up rubbish singing or to "stand out" will make up for someone who actually sings the lyrics of the song.

Phillip actually does things differently and does sing that is why i think he is the only one who deserves to win.

I cannot agree with this I am afraid. I have watched every reality singing show from the 1st pop idol and I honestly think that Joshua is the best singer I have heard on any show. I also think Jessica will me the next big thing in America. I have not heard a performance better then I will Always Love You on any show. I do however think Joshua is impressive on every song so deserves to beat her. My view Philip Philips is being way outclassed.
