Same with Jessica, Look up Alexandra Burke and Listen and compare them. Even Carly Smithson from a few years ago sang Wtihout you so much better than Joshua.”

I guess my idea of ludicrous and your idea of ludicrous are two different things.

I couldn't find, and don't remember, Phillip's version of Without You. I guess it wasn't very memorable

I've always liked Alexandra, though.

Clearly he has his fans. It's a style that appeals to you more than me - fair enough.

Clearly, Joshua and Jessica have a lot of fans too and they appeal to me far more than Phillip.

We can throw adjectives around all day but, at the end of the day, if a singer brings pleasure to the listener then they've done their job. Nobody pleases everybody but these three have pleased the majority this year, there's no need to denigrate any of them.

^Phillip didn't sing Without You, Joshua did. That's who Scrufox said sung it.

I've always said how much I like Phillip. He is by far and away my favourite contestant left, and has been one of my two favourites all season. It's just about what you prefer. I prefer his artistry and style, to Joshua's voice, and to Jessica. I don't think either of the latter two are as good as the majority make out. I agree with the poster (I think it was Scrufox again) who said Jessica can't do up-temp numbers. And I just don't like Joshua's voice.

Ah, that explains it

Given that the example was supposed to be showing why Phillip doesn't suck the life out of songs it seems odd to be referring me to a Joshua performance!

I've never said Joshua and Jessica were perfect, They've had performances I haven't enjoyed but they've also had performances I've enjoyed immensely.

Phillip has had a couple of performances I've enjoyed but I would say far fewer than most of the others. That's just personal preference, though. I recognize his artistry I just don't like his artistic choices.

Phillip has the unique capacity to take great songs & make them really, really dull... Actually - sometimes he takes dull songs & makes them even worse...

He's a good guitar player but not much of singer & has the personality of a dishcloth.

He doesn't have a powerful voice or the range of Jessica & Joshua. And he doesn't have anything like the talent of David Cook.

By rights it should be J & J in the final - it would a great stand off. But Phillip will definitely be there boring me to death...

I agree with all of that.
