I'm watching some of their old routines just now (in a depressing way because it's been confirmed that 3 of them have left and it doesn't seem like it was on good terms ) and I'd completely disagree with that.
Comparing them to tonight's performance, their technicality, timing and synchronicity has improved massively.

Yeah Diversity clearly have no talent, anyone can do that. All I want it to see is an ugly, above average opera singer (even though I have no interest in opera and neither does 90% of the people watching BGT).

Diversity are the best act to come from BGT. Hands down.

I'm Scottish and didn't vote for Susan Boyle, in fact I didn't want her to win and anyone else I spoke to at the time also had the same opinion I feel the support from around the rest of the world for Susan Boyle was greater than it was locally. You can't just assume all Scots will vote for a Scottish act. Personally I was delighted Diversity won that year.

Agree... but Pudsey is a very very close second.

As for Boyle, I don't think her audition can be beaten. Not a fan of her work since her win as I really don't think she is that good, her sucess in the States ensured her contract continues.

Diversity wiped the floors with SuBo. SuBo is crap, really, she cant sing. Its just that she is a freak and people like to look at freaks.

It was the leaked video of Susan Boyle's audition that ensured her success, she was a talking point in the States within days.

Diversity are superb, though, they never disappoint.

She's not an opera singer. If she tried to sing opera, she'd be a long way below average compared with singers in amateur opera groups all over the country.

Susan is not and never claimed to be an opera singer She's good but even compared to similar singers I dont think she's really AMAZING, if that makes sense. The shock she was able to sing quite well even though in her 1st audition she looked about 20 years older than she actually was, frumpy and acted quirky has worn off now.
If you didnt mean Susan, I apologise

I don't understand, if she wasn't live then why didn't they get her to re-record it?! She kept getting ahead of the music, it was painful to watch.

Diversity are crap, I agree. They've always been a one trick pony.

I agree with this. After she lost, some Americans were inviting her to live over there where she would be more appreciated.

I only watched BGT this morning.

I watched the whole of Diversity and really enjoyed it. They are really, really good.

Then I watched a bit of Susan Boyle and thought, yeah, she is good. Then I fast forwarded it....

Agreed - best I've seen them, they were really, really sharp.

Boyle on the other hand looked a bit confused as she murdered a Madonna song by getting the timing completely wrong. Seriously, what the hell was going on there? :/

I'm just watching it - she seems to be singing ahead of the music and at the wrong tempo (like too fast?) Also I think powerful vocals are wrong for the song - OK the song says "You'll see I can be strong" kinda thing but Madonna sings softer and demonstrates vulnerability as well even if its a song about strength. As you say, Susans timing is screwed up (particularly at the end) and she's singing on the wrong beats.
Didnt like Susan's version, sorry
If this was XF and Susan was a contestant Simon surely would be pointing that out. We all have "bad days at the office" though.

IIRC when Susan sang live with Elaine Paige, she messed up the timings then as well...perhaps she's prone to it.

Who left Diversity then and why?

Three brothers - Ian, Jamie and Matt.
Not sure why, but from looking at their girlfriends' Twitters (one of which is one of the Bruce Sisters, the martial arts girls who got to last year's semi-finals) it doesn't look like it was on good terms. Ian tweeted thanking people for support but said he can't say much about why they left.
Strange really as their tour only ended about 6 weeks ago and things seemed fine then. I know those three have known Ashley and his family for 20 odd years so it must be over something big for them to leave, as it was obvious how close they all were - or possibly only one of them had the issue but the other two left as well out of loyalty.

Fans are a bit annoyed that there's been no official confirmation or explanation for why three original members have suddenly left - I'm sure if it was Perri or Ashley who was suddenly missing from a performance, they'd feel the need to explain why.

And you know how I voted, do you?

P.S... It would've been a tad hard, or perhaps impossible even if the ENTIRE population of Scotland had voted for SB, after all, England who ENTIRELY voted for Diversity has a Population of 26 million

Funny ... I don't remember voting for her

What a nasty comment! Everytime I've seen Susan on TV she's come across as a really nice lady and as for saying she can't sing - you don't sell millions of albums worldwide just because you have a sob story and a quirky personality. Utter rubbish.

Personally I thought both performances were a let down. For me, Diversity didn't stand out at all from any of the other dance troupes. I used to look forward to watching their comic routines but Saturdays performance was just a bit on the dull side and as already mentioned, Susan was out of time with the music.

I'd rather have seen Jai or Spelbound.
