Jonathan and Charlotte just weren't good enough last night

I had high hopes for this pair, but once again they chose a forgettable 'song' that was...well...forgettable.

They should have gone with Time To Say Goodbye or something from Phantom of the Opera.

Something that would grab the nation. Alas, not...

Charlotte's performance was a little under par last night, and Jonathan's a great opera singer but I didn't get much variation from his voice last night.

Pudsey's only rival in my view was Holly, who was very underrated. I think she's excellent, and shows so much confidence on stage. Amazing voice for any age, never mind 11.

The Americans will love her.

I agree that they needed to sing a real crowd pleaser to beat the Pudsey juggernaut. As Louis Walsh said on BGMT, song choice would be very important. I don't think that any of the singing acts sang a really famous song. They were less well known songs or self penned stuff. Good for auditions but not for a final.

although the girl singer is good , i still feel she is holding the boy back, he is a powerhouse singer and need her out the way so she could blow the roof off the building with his power

they should have sung time to say goodbye

Who was Holly?

Didn't rate Holly at all - she is only good because she is young - will she have a voice good enough in 5 years?

They did though choose some slightly uninspiring songs. Difficult to argue with 76% of a vote they missed a chance.

I think they are better of sticking together for a couple of years at least. Jonathon needs the moral support and she brings some glamour and the opportunity to sing duets makes them different. He is clearly a stronger singer, but they are both still so young, so it will be good to share the pressure and the whirlwind they'll have over the coming months.

He should probably get some proper training, and then in a few years time he can do his own thing. It will be a natural progression and he'll be a much better singer and performer by then.

Charlotte gave Jonathan the confidence to showcase his voice. The opposite of "holding him back".

LOL, did you not like Molly either?

I agree. I thought they gave a good performance but they didn't blow me away. If they'd chosen a better song then I think they'd have won.

Jonathan wasn't as good as Charlotte was last night. She's got a great voice on her.

I don't think it was that he wasn't as good but more that his part was quite limited to make it work as a proper duo. I felt like we'd had half a performance.

They were always going to lose to the dog act, no matter what song they had chosen for them.

I thought they were fantastic.

We also need to remember that Susan Boyles came second and still has become successful.

So I don't think it is the end of the road of Charlotte and Jonathan by any stretch of the imagination.

I thought Jonathan and Charlotte were absolutely brilliant last night in the final and they sang my favourite song "The Prayer" and they both sang it beautifully. They were both definitely upto the mark but no act however good it was would have topped Pudsey and Ashleigh.

I think he should have dumped her. She could have supported him off the stage too.

I was disappointed last night as I thought there semi was better. I've seen people say they wished they'd have sang time to say goodbye but there's no way Charlotte could have handled those notes - not yet anyway. If she keeps training and when she's older, she can have aspirations of Sarah Brightman.

Time to say goodbye really isn't that high. it's more to do with the phrasing on the lower notes. They would have managed TTSG just fine

But they are not the greatest opera singers in this country. Compared to people at the Royal Opera House, they are not good enough.

People voted for them because they are 'good for their age' not because they were really good. Whereas the dog act won regardless of the dog's age.

i seem to be in the minority in that i think charlotte is better than jonathon.

I dont think the song choice was a factor last night as the percentage between the two was just too big to overcome.

Had it been a couple of percent ild have agreed a different song may have tipped the decision, but they would have needed an extra 14% to beat the dog.

You aren't going to get an extra 14% just by singing a different song.

Ashleigh and Pudsey had this locked down from their first audition. The only way they could have screwed it up is if one of their next two routines had gone horrible wrong. They appealed to pretty much everyone.

Should have sung Time to Say Goodbye????

Oh dear, shouldn't we be at least be grateful that they avoided appealing to the lowest common denominator.........over exposed tunes that don't test the tolerance of the hoi polloi to what they perceive as 'posh culture'

was interesting to see (check the videos) my Simon conducting with his hand Amanda back as they sung and when they finished he punched the air with delight...now lets believe he knows a thing or too about talent

They were incredible on the night, Pudsey was always going to win, after all A Dog winning BGT, think about it............
