It's that simple IMO. I was in a cafe telling a friend who had not seen the show about it today and a total stranger leaned over and engaged me in conversation about how lovely the act was and how much she'd enjoyed it.

I think they won because Pudsey's routine was amazing, and because Ashleigh came across as an absolute sweetheart who was so dedicated and talented at what she did.

Simple, really.

As far as I am aware these friends would not have been able to watch Britains got Talent in these Country`s on Saturday and actually see Ashleigh and Pudsey`s act. So have no idea what the act involved .,

I think that the dog won because lots of very young people vote a lot probably.

The dog act won for number of reasons !
1 simon wanted them to win
2. the dog was great
3. the young lady is very talented and not exactly ms ugly either...
4 cheaper than an artist winning ie a singer in the long run. and because of the talent showed by the young lady she probably be training dogs for many years..

I have friends here who have said the same thing but when I have sent them the you tube link they have changed their mind.

Saying a dog won does sound silly but when you actually watch it and see the routine and what was involved plus the cutenss of Pudsey and likeability of Ashleigh then maybe people understand more why A and P deservedly won

I don't understand your point number 4? Simon will make decisions as to what singing acts he will want to sign and he doesn't have the public telling him he needs to sign a certain one. He can sign one, several or none at all and I am sure he will have weighed up who will make him money

Actually it seems to be suggesting Pudsey likes the best of both worlds, if you get me! Aha, says he was a father but now seems to be more interested in this Sam! Surprised the Daily Mail never ranted over the fact the winner of a family show is a gay pooch!

Believe it or not i was told it was on the 6pm news in Australia then on the morning shows the day after.
A couple of others said they did see it online.

Simon has no influence over who the public vote for though.

Why has a dog act never won before, if that were the case?

Oh, no, surely not people liking animals? - how terrible!

They won because they were the best act, simple as.

Another reason they won is perhaps that the other acts involved the use of words, some of them strung together. Even in song, that can pose a problem for audiences.

Far less strain on brains unused to being strained, to see a lovely dog leaping about. By 2022, probably there'll be no acts really,at all. There'll be background music, audience screaming, judges talking but acts will appear on stage, just move about a bit then clear off.

Act 1 - a five year old walks on with her pet kitten.
Act 2 - two incredibly old people wheeled on in wheelchairs.
Act 3- reasonably attractive eighteen year old ladholding a banjo appears briefly. .
Act 4 - Sixteen year old girl comes on and smiles.
Act 5 - Twelve men walk on dressed as Shirley Bassey
Act 6 - There's an outside broadcast thing showing a choir of children simultaneously doing a bungee jump off Beachy Head.
Result - the kitten walks it and gets a million quid.

And what would you define as talent - some silly plank of a man with a saucepan on his head? Or that Latino woman whose only 'talent' is wiggling her backside?
