I don't normally go in for the exaggerated hyperbole, but I have just never ever understood George Sampson's win - it seemed based largely on him having failed the previous year.

The routine was short, of so little substance (and a somersault) and the exact same thing on three performances running. Even as a dance act there were all sorts of dancers more skilled than him in the final, several of his age in the dance troupe acts.

That was a peculiar final all round that year and unsurprisingly the top 5 were the last 5.

His DVD sold well and peaked at number 1 in the DVD chart? He got dropped by Cowell because his single only reached 30 in the charts (which was a stupid idea by Cowell to release anyway) He's done really well through the show though, West end, TV, Films. They all (apart from Waterloo Road) involve what he auditioned for the show with.

Jai McDowell was actually a good singer just he was shafted by Simon and not given decent material
