Seriously, do they mean 'New School'? I really am concerned about children these days if that is their idea of 'spelling'.

My friends grandaughter is in Nu Sxool and its just as a gimmick because thats how kids text these days ,.
And by the way I thought the kids done very well and they have worked bloody hard on thier routines . nice to see such dedication in youngsters and not bored hanging around streets.. but no doubt some miserable b*********d will have something nasty to say on here But before they do .....just dont forget that every single one of you on here have been kids and what were you doing at their age and how would you have felt if you worked your socks off then found nit pickers finding fault.. think about it before punching away at the keyboard while sitting on your arses

I don't get it either, surely the txt spk version would be skool or scool...

I saw it written down before I heard it spoken and I assumed it was a typo.

Would it make a difference if I personally find out why the X is there and it would put peoples mind at rest

It's just one of their names though isn't it? They're Got to Dance regulars. Their dance school entered separate boys and girls teams in GTD this year. In 2011, they had a combo team but it was more evenly split between boys and girls. In 2010 Jack (tall blond lad) entered GTD solo and was spotted by the Nu Sxool dance teacher who gave him a scholarship.

Oh it wasnt just me then !! One child , little girl with two bunches in her hair got at least 80% of the camera time , got to talk and squeal and make faces all the time .

I think a few noticed on here. General consensus was that she's the default youngest/cutest.

1. I never sat on my arse as a kid.
2. My parents did not wrap me in cotton wool and that way they did me a favour and I learnt from an early age how the world worked instead of it coming as a big shock that I couldn't cope with due to over-protecting parenting.
3. This is a discussion site and you can't just nullify all and every post that doesn't see this act as anything special.

Now as for the actual topic: Yes it sloppy spelling aided, abetted and supported by weak parents who don't dare take control of their children and even try to command what people on here post.
Grossly irresponsibly shielding them from reality.

Hate how people say "but that's how youngsters text these days"

THAT IS NOT TRUE!!

Look through any teenager's texts and you'll see that 95% of the time we use proper English. If u txt lyk dis den u r seen as a thik chav.

The only time thing's get abbreviated is things like not using apostrophes, and using abbreviations such as 'tbh' for 'to be honest'. Yung ppl jus dnt txt lyk dis n i find it propa anoyin wen adultz fink we do!

The reversed R in Toys R Us used to annoy me years ago before mobile phones and texting came about.
But times have moved on and even as a granny I am learning some of the text talk myself, well it is quicker.
As far as Nu Sxool goes I thought they were absolutely brilliant and such lovely happy children.

At their age I was climbing trees, falling off swings, riding a bike, playing kiss chase (and knock up ginger lol).....having piano lessons, going to Brownies then Guides.........having tap lessons............and so on. Certainly not sitting on my ass

Pretty simple really why the 'x' in sxool: the sound is similar to school and it looks different. hardly rocket science.

I was at school learning grammar and spelling. I learnt such things as "the kids done very well.." should be 'the kids did very well...".

Nu Skool is probably trademarked in some shape or form and x is a cool letter?

Wild mass guessing

Whats your problem? On this thread no one has criticised the children, just their name.

I know someone on Facebook who types txt speak and he is early 30s and uses a full-sized keyboard at home.

And another Facebook friend who has just turn 40 and is Irish: He insists on typing words how he speaks, IE with a Irish accent and Zero use of the 'TH' sound - Tanks! and Tings.

I speak with an Irish accent and am well able and capable of using a Th and say Thanks and Things

He doesn't! And I've noticed a lot of Irish people don't, but that doesn't mean all by any means and I would think it depend on what part you come from.

With him though I think he over does it to make sure people don't forget that he is Irish as he lives here in the SE of England and regularly slags off the English.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, everytime I see that backwards R I want to climb up and rip it down. How can we teach kids to write properly when they see stupid things like that?

Hasbro, the toy giant, uses the brand Playskool. That might have been the reason why they didn't use 'skool'.
