Everyone getting narked coz a dog won needs to sit down and think...

The dog isn't the issue here

The fact a 16 year old trained a dog to the highest possible calibre is remarkable.

Ashleigh is an amazing talent and she deserved to win this

What she has achieved is nothing short of amazing

The fact she's such a well rounded and lovely young girl is a bonus.

SICK AND BORED to tears of x factor wannabe singers and yawn some dance acts winning

VARIETY at last

For me, the dog is the issue here. I don't think dogs should be used as showpieces.

She's a good trainer but I don't approve of what she does. I wanted Jonathan and Charlotte to win or the welsh singers.

I think Ashleigh did brilliantly aswell.

I think it's fair to say they both won. Without each other, there would be no act

That dog looked really sad and miserable and used! Come on, it looked like it was having the time of it's life! Much better than being on overfed, under exercised lapdog!

Do you think sheepdogs shouldn't be trained to herd sheep? Dogs are very smart creatures and I bet Pudsey is much happier being trained and have all that attention lavished on him than just sitting/lying bored around the house all day!

I think a real contributing factor to their popularity was the video showing her getting Pudsey for her birthday. It really emphasised how it has been a partnership with her and Pudsey and they have grown up together!

Not true: Had she turned up without a dog there would be no act. However gad the dog go in a side door and started performing his tricks all alone, then he would still be an act and would have still won!

Well, I think that's being a tad pedantic, but I take your point. Although had the dog not turned up Ashleigh could have said she was a mime artist or had an imaginary dog LOL!

No animal would do what Pudsey did if it was unhappy. The only way to teach a dog, or any animal, is with kindness, love and patience. I think dogs who can do tricks are happy to do them.

Why does the human end of the dog act always carry it off stage? They ALWAYS do this! Yet I was amazed when she did it with Pudsey who must be no lightweight
A dog that can do all sorts of routines can surely be trusted to walk off obediently with it's owner?

Ashleigh is 17 both Ashleigh and Pudsey won. So it is about both of them

I'm sure she'll spoil her dog from now on with some of the winnings that she received.

Jonathan and Charlotte were excellent IMO, but I'm happy also for Ashleigh and Pudsey if they won because it is a good a VARIETY act won imo, not just a singer/dancer.
I know most of the attention is on Jonathan, but Charlotte has a very nice voice too and blends with his

I think its difficult to get dogs to do things that they don't want to do. This isn't exactly the Grand National and the stuff that he does isn't dangerous.

My dog loves jumping over things and when I accidently drop things on the floor at home, he will run back and forth and pretend it is a hurdle.

His favourite thing is jumping over the hoover

In case you missed it, Pudsey was standing up and walking backwards at times. I noticed that you didn't put that in your post.

If BGT is to carry on they need to move away from Dead Cert winners of

Dancers.
Opera
singers in General.

I think the win was a lovely refreshing change and goes more in the spirit of The event With luck we can get a comedian winning next year.I wish a lot of these singers would apply for Xfactor because that show is in dire need of good singers.

”

Agreed. The X Factor is for music and BGT for novelty sort of stuff like Pudsey dancing on two feet.

A lot of them wouldn't be chosen for X factor though. The Loveable Rogues are not pop enough and write their own songs, X factor dosen't do opera, the children are too young etc.

Good point but could be all sorts of reasons, cables on stage that pudsey might have tripped over. Dunno I am no dog expert

No they don't always carry the dog. Tina didn't carry Chandi - gave the dog more respect than lugging it around on stage!

Ashleigh couldn't have won without Pudsey
Pudsey couldn't have won with Ashleigh's training.

A joint effort.

Stupid comparison. Collies are bred to work the sheep, whatever the cross Pudsey is most certainly wasn't bred to dance around on his back legs.

Lovely to see the relationship but I abhor 'doggy dancing' and now sit back and wait for the influx of 'cute scruffy' dogs that will be bred by greedy selfish back yard breeders on the back of this dogs sucess and will no doubt end up on my rescues door step when the idiot people who buy them realise they don't get a well trained dog by sitting on their fat arses but by hard bloody work.

And queue all the kiddies wanting a fluffy doggie for their birthday pressies.........

Grrrrr bad day trying to find homes for the 15 unwanted dogs on my books and seeing 3 put to sleep because we could not rehome them.

BUT WTG Pudsey I'm sure you'll live a happy life..shame it can't be the same for all the dogs in this country.

Could you train him to hoover up though?
Now that would be cool
( I bet Pudsey could)
