Yes I wonder what the next song is going to be? Another one filled with self-pity over a girl that won't do the jiggy-jiggy dance with him?

I was talking about being popular and having hits. I mentioned Olly Murs because they occupy a similar ska/calypso musical style. Murs has made the genre popular.

And why have you mentioned Only Boys Aloud?

The best songs are ones about emotional angst, look at Adele.

The guy is a cracking songwriter, singer and musician. He is far superior to Sam, who had no original material of his own.
Sam was better suited to the xfactor ala Joe McEldery, he even sounds like him.
The lovable rogues were brilliant, my fav act, glad to hear they were signed.Likewise the Welsh choir and J/C.I would buy a Cd by any of the signed acts except Mr Zips rubbish.

Happy for 4 of them, just not Ryan. Please no. I thought it was just me who thought he came across as creepy in his audition. He creeps me out. I didn't find the song or "story" sweet, I found it odd and desperate. Also I don't like his voice, I much prefer Sam.

I find Ryan very, very unlikeable. The cheek of him going from talent show to another and I cannot believe he got through and got a second chance.... actually I can, SImon loves promotion. It's pathetic and sad.

At least Loveable Rogue shows a different style of singing. I can't deal with depressing songs anymore after hearing Adele constantly for 18 months every day in every car and shop I enter.

Same here, but songwriting talent shouldn't just be ignored. Ryan had a great voice, ability to play an instrument AND wrote his own songs. I preferred Sam's personality and voice but Ryan deserves a record deal, IMO.

Lots of people try different shows, the guy has talent and wants to be in the music industry. What harm is in that. He did not give up on his dream and has real talent.
He was never creepy, just a quiet lad. None of us have met these acts and we dont know them as people, so I find the dislike for the acts ridiculous, petty and without the foundation of real knowledge of them as people. We just see them on Tv.

All the acts have a story and angle, it makes the show more interesting and draws in the viewers. Its part of the show, the person with the biggest sob story was Jonathan's bullied and overweight /Charlotte Crutch one surely and how confident he now is.One could be cynical here if one chooses.

The dog had the cute factor and they kept showing the pup for her b/d in a box video to pull the heartstrings.Thats an angle too.The acts have to back the stories with talent and all the acts mentioned here did just that.

Why didn't he sing one of them then I think he would had a better chance of being signed.I for one would love to have heard them.

My fav act was the lovable rogues and the choir but I had to speak out against such unfairness.I look for the talent in the acts , I don't know them so neither like or dislike them as people.I certainly would not go by show hype etc or make assumptions.

I'm glad to hear The Loveable Rogues were signed. If the record company allows them to keep making their own songs in the way they like (doubtful really) I would certainly buy their album.

What's so great about writing your own songs? With most acts Simon signs, he wants total control and so gets session musicians to create hits. The 'artist' is just a pretty thing to mime to a Simon Cowel backing track.

Who are the great songwriters in 1 Direction? ...and Westlife and Boyzone made whole careers out of covering and doing songs they didn't write.

That might be why they're going to sign him for.

Making more money. If Simon's own songwriters come in, the singer will probably earn less. If you write your own songs, this will eliminate the need for songwriters, therefore, you probably get the money that the songwriters would have gotten.

Shame that the Loveable Rogues have signed with Syco. I actually really like them. If they do well they will make control freak Scowell look as though he knows what he is doing.

May be Scowell is attempting to become credible as a Record Company Boss in his old age?

You never know, he does like their music so he may not try to change them around too much. Besides, they already have a large fanbase so selling won't be much of a problem.

I didn't see Mr Zip on the show. I can't believe Loveable Rogues have got a deal, they were awful! I'm not surprised about Ryan - he will be touted as the male Adele.

I'm glad Jonathan and Charlotte got signed as they actually deserve it. I think they're the only ones out of this lot that do. I'm a bit baffled by Only Boys Aloud getting a deal. Do people buy choir albums?

Well, the album by Military Wives 'In My Dreams' went to Number 1, so people do buy choir albums, depending on the type of choir.
