It's just a distraction, isn't it? Like giving a child a lolly to forget about a shot in the arm.

If we keep our brains in the kindergarten we don't have to worry about the collapsing economy or any of that other grown up stuff.

50 years ago the idea of entertainment was having a ventriloquist on the radio

Everyone loves dancing dogs. And vegetables shaped like genitalia. That kind of entertainment never gets old.

What baffled me was it's called Britain's Got Talent and a number of the acts were from other countries. Oh and it's a TV programme. They all baffle me.

It keeps the masses pre-occupied and uninterested to what's going on in real world.

The world is going hell in a hand basket, but hey look! a dog doing the moonwalk or some crap, just don't look at me fiddling my expenses or watch make savage cuts to public spending whilst I send LOL texts to my BFF Rebekah Brooks *snorts*.

Listen to many of the people who think they can sing these days and actually believe they have a future in entertainment as a singer are classic examples of those who have no talent.

Sooo if you never watched it how do you know your dog could do the same tricks that Pudsey did?

What did you expect? This show is crap anyway. The whole point of these 'audience vote shows' is to vote for the worst. Hence why Anne widdicombe and that John Sergeant did so well on Strictly come dancing. They are crap so you might as well not take it too seriously.

That was much more than 50 years ago! I was a little girl when Archie Andrews was on the radio (couldn't stand him!)

I think it was the late 40s when Educating Archie was on.

Well I for one thoroughly enjoyed Britain's Got Talent and there certainly was a lot of young talent on that show this year.

Where will these people be in a year when everybody realises that they are just one of millions-on the scrap heap of life!

no it wasn't. On until mid 60s. Mind you the other people on the show were positively stellar. And co-written by Marty Feldman. Sponsored by Cuprinol

I know I got the wrong part of the forum-I`ll remember that next time-however, I am pleasanty suprised at the diverse comments-even though I watch very little of the absolute rubbish that is on current television,I DO respect the right of others to do so-it`s far better here than in some countries where personal freedom is not allowed and if you are in disagreement with another, you may be in fear of your life-well done everyone!
