Indie music help required
Afternoon all.
Many moons ago, there used to be a collection out on tape called 'Now that's what I call Indie music Vol.......' (or summat close to it). I used to have some of them, but over the years, lost them. Can anyone on here, a) tell me they remember them too, so I don't think I'm going mad, b) point me in the direction of tracklistings, etc? Ta for any help |

Alas no. I think the title is pretty close to what I wrote down. I remember at least volume 10.
If it's any help, they were brought out in the 90s. Blues For Ceausescu by the Fatima Mansions was on one of them, if this helps |

I have a CD of Indie Top 20 from about 1995, with The Cramps, Ween, Bandit Queen and Blaggers ITA on it. There's an early-ish Oasis single on there as well.

I often thought of buying these but I had so many of the originals it wasn't worth my while. I was a big collector back then.
Some good track listings and a pretty decent time capsule of indie stuff at the time - lots of less commercial tracks. Where other compilations would just stick on Blur and Oasis these compilations weren't afraid to include tracks by Field Mice or the Kitchens of Distinction or the Wolfgang Press. |

I'm currently in the process of ripping all my CDs onto HDD, which is nearly at an end after 2 whole weeks. I found 3 tapes of the discussed compilations, and was hit by nostalgia. I suppose the best thing to do is find on YT, then convert. |
