**The Official BB13 Ratings Thread**
It's time for another one of these threads. Now the promotion has started and that we have around 3 weeks until it starts (assuming), I would like to start this thread. So make your predictions, what will the launch get, what will the series average?
I know that CBB will follow but I think we should keep the two threads separated and make a different one after BB13 finishes. OFFICIAL FIGURES BB SERIES AVERAGES (OFFICIAL FIGURES) BIG BROTHER 1 (2000): 4.5m BIG BROTHER 2 (2001): 4.5m BIG BROTHER 3 (2002): 5.8m BIG BROTHER 4 (2003): 4.6m BIG BROTHER 5 (2004): 5.1m BIG BROTHER 6 (2005): 4.6m BIG BROTHER 7 (2006): 4.7m BIG BROTHER 8 (2007): 3.9m BIG BROTHER 9 (2008): 3.6m [inc. +1] BIG BROTHER 10 (2009): 2.5m [inc. +1] BIG BROTHER 11 (2010): 2.9m [inc. +1] ULTIMATE BIG BROTHER (2010): 3.2m [inc. +1] BIG BROTHER 12 (2011) 1.7m [incl. +1] |

I think it will likely get 2.6 million. A few hundred thousand more would be pleasant enough, however.

2.4 on Launch and 2.2 the next night and hope it averages at 1.9 but I fear it will be more like 1.7 this year (just a little higher than BB12) but there's always hope...

I'll be optimistic and say 2.8m, considering how well received the last CBB was.

I think the launch will get 2.6m. I don't think any episode will get under a million because of how well received CBB was.

2.8m
I think BB12's did so badly because it launched on a Friday in September straight after CBB, without it's own ads and build up. A lot of people on twitter thought the CBB final was the end and the launch show the next night was just a repeat and went out or watched something else (there's more on in September). It should do a bit better this year because it's June when there's nothing else on. Especially if it launches on a Sunday. Don't think it will get more than 3 million though. Hopefully the cast will be a bit older this year (the producers said it will) and more non 16-34s will watch past the launch. Yeah, they were talking about it on This Morning and Loose Women most days the week after the launch. |

I doubt it will break beyond 2 million if I am being realistic, them days have well and truly gone (for the regular series anyway).
I expect anything from 1.4-1.7 million - it's hard to tell because BB12 was all over the place. |

2.5m for launch.
1.5m for series average. I don't see it doing well this year at all, not least because of the inevitable cast with no older housemates and pushing everything over to social networking sites which alienate older viewers. People this year will be focusing on other things like the Olympics and Euro 2012, people don't have time to committ to everything this summer - and these events are rare (in the case of the Olympics being held in the UK - thats once in a lifetime) whereas BB happens every year. This year's advertising campaign wont be as big as last years - that was a one off huge campaign to launch the show for the first time on C5. It will follow the trend of the last 5 years (barring BB11, which was boosted as viewers thought it would be the last) and decline in ratings. |

You're assuming that everyone loves watching sport? BB has more of a female demographic anyway - the majority of whom won't be glued to the Euros and the Olympics. Plenty of people will want an alternative to sport this Summer. Wasn't the last series of CBB in January really well advertised too? I think they even had the advert with Jedward & Amy Childs during Emmerdale! So, it wasn't a one off for the first series anyway! |

Expect to see billboards within the next week or so and ads on other channels other than 5. I think CBB ratings will be affected aswel because after 10 weeks of the original series people are not going to want to commit to another series straight away. Thats why BB12's ratings were so low. Could be the lowest rated CBB ever but i think the regular series will average about 1.7. Would love for it to stay steady above 2 million otherwise i can see Channel 5 axing the civillian version. |

The CBB in January did have a good campaign so there's nothing to say they won't do something similar with BB13. I remember they had bus posters that were still there long after the series had finished.

I feel it will out rate BB12.
Launch of BB12 suffered with no promotion or advertising(CBB only got promoted) and got 2.6m. I reckon BB13 will out rate that because: a) It will be promoted for a few weeks. b) CBB9 was well received and ended at 3.4m. (a loss of just 200k from launch to finale). |

CBB8 got a much higher launch figure. If you take out the CBB8 launch and CBB9 launch out, the series average would be 100k more in CBB9's favour if we focussed just on all the episodes except for launches. Also CBB9 ended with 200k higher than CBB8. CBB8 had a loss 2.1m (5.3m to 3.2m), whereas CBB9 had a loss of 200k (3.6m to 3.4m). That is an incredible retention, especially compared to CBB8. Also it is noteworthy that Pantsgate 3.11m was the highest rated normal episode (non launch and finale) since BB11. The only thing to beat it before was the quad eviction in BB11 which received 3.4m. |

I wish for 10 million but i think it will be more like 1.5 , sadly it's losing more and more fans . It doesn't help when C5 keep messing with it.
