I think CBB ratings will be affected aswel because after 10 weeks of the original series people are not going to want to commit to another series straight away. Thats why BB12's ratings were so low.

Could be the lowest rated CBB ever but i think the regular series will average about 1.7.

Would love for it to stay steady above 2 million otherwise i can see Channel 5 axing the civillian version.
They won't start in the next week, they'll start when we know the start date.

They aren't allowed to advertise the start date on other channels though?

Just "Coming soon".

I'm on about the billboards.

I think the launch can achieve 2.8-3m. As for the series average, I think it will do a bit better than BB12, which I think suffered for a number of reasons. I'd say around 2m.

It's Tuesday 5th. The competition is easy except for Silk on BBC One, but it's hardly likely to attract the same audience as that show anyway. The other 9pm shows are:

BBC Two - Horizon: Transit of Venus (the intellectual's choice)
ITV1 - Martin Clunes: Lemurs of Madagascar (likely to do very badly)
C4 - Jimmy and the Giant Supermarket (not a threat)

I think if they promote hard, get it advertised on ITV/C4/Sky again then it can easily get 3 million viewers, plus it's a weak night for the main channels.

Good and interesting:
IMO Silk will get around 5m. Horizon around 1.4m and Martin Clunes around 2m.

BB should do quite well.

Should do well, more days for us to get to know the housemates, nothing on ITV on Tuesdays.

Yeah, it's a good night to launch because after the long weekend people will not want to go back to work on the Wednesday. They'll be craving something light to watch on TV the night before, and that's where BB comes in.

Might up my prediction for the launch to 3 million.

I wonder if they'll advertise on different channels this year?

I think they probably will, they did more recently for Once Upon a Time.

Probably, but two or three times on ITV a couple of days before rather than several every day on the music channels like last year.

Well Ch5 certainly won't have any trouble with ITV on it's launch. Last night a repeat of Martin Clunes logged 1.4m, which is the lowest ITV primetime rating ever I think. Yes, it was a repeat but when they air a new episode against BB, I can't see it getting over 2m especially as Tuesday is seen as the flopzone for ITV.

I predict ratings for maybe over 3m now if they advertise it heavily.

I think they'd be quite pleased with anything over 3m, given the figures for BB12 towards the end of the run. I think it may just fall short of that, i predict around 2.8m

That's true. I am sure BB13 will beat BB12 in the ratings, the BB12 were just unusually low.

If they don't properly start an advertising campaign by tomorrow, I think a launch figure of around 2m will be likely.

I doubt it. I'm sure it will be around BB12s launching figure of 2.6m or slightly higher. BB12 had no promotion what so ever.

Tomorrow Emma and Brian are on Loose Women, how many viewers does that get? Around 1.5m yes? If they advertise a few times of ITV and other channels then I think they could launch with 3m or over.

He means if they don't advertise on ITV and other channels, but agreed, there's not much on on Tuesday for 16-34s so they'll see it on their EPGs while they're looking for something to watch. Though, if the weather's nice, it might stop some fans that weren't going to have their TVs on then to watch.

I reckon with the promotion of now, the show still can manage 2.6m. But if advertised on ITV that potential figure can rise around half a million higher. If the CBB viewers know its back, they may all watch. 2.6M average watched CBB9 and finale audience of 3.4m.

I now think it will just scrape an average of 2 million because of their non-existant advertising campaign! IF they advertise on other channels over the weekend MAYBE around 2.5 million but I think if they had the billboards they could of reached 3 million due to the very low competiton. I know its not the "glory days" anymore but people are interested in the launch just out of nosiness to see who goes in. Unfortunatly however, apart from the hardcore fans very few people will actually beware of its imminent beginning.

Considering how dead this forum still is, I'm assuming that plenty of people still aren't aware it's back in 5 days.

Having just checked the ratings thread a final of just 2.18 million (officials) suggests this really could be a flop.

I still reckon BB13 could outrate BB12. I think BB12 was just quite unlucky due to no promotion at all, being on following a series AND out of the season its supposed to air in. I know maybe CBB is more popular now but there was a rise of 900k between BB12 and CBB9 (averages of 1.7m increased to 2.6m).

Twitter seemed to be quite active recently regarding it's return.... they just need to advertise on ITV, that's it I reckon.
