Nervous to read this in the morning.

I do hope it got 3m viewers, but we'll see.

It seemed to go well on the various sites but I'm always wary of using the likes of Twitter as a guide... it's steered me wrong in the past.

Yeah, I remember when BB12 had like 8 trending topics on Twitter worldwide, so assumed it was going to be a ratings hit and then got like 2.6 million for the launch.

I predict 2.8

Good show, but it doesn't change the fact that the advertisement beforehand was pretty poor. I wouldn't have known it started on a Tuesday if not for Digital Spy. However, the show was good so I think the figures would have grown rather than fallen.

Hopefully they can keep the momentum going for tomorrow's show.

2.6 m isn't a disaster ,it's ok
too early to say how the ratings will go though
9 weeks is a long time

Don't think it includes +1 actually.

Not a great start, really. Last year when it launched with 2.6m, there was a lot of disappointment at how low it had started. Yesterday's launch did have more promotion on Channel 5 and much easier competition than last year's BB launch so I would've hoped for a bit more than that (3m). Looks like this series will probably be getting similar numbers to last year's series, maybe worse dependent on the competition.

Considering BB had no real competition last night
and was the main topic of trends on twitter
i had come to the conclusion it may get higher ratings myself
9 weeks is a very long time though so who knows
what will happen

Last year had the lead in from CBB so more people would have been aware of the show, though conversely more people may have had BB fatigue.

agreed ,there was a few factors in it's favour last night

trending on twitter is never a good indication of ratings success
as people do like to tweet how much they hate something once they see it's a trending topic which in turn prolongs it as a trending topic

i thought anything over 2.5 m would be ok
like you say it's too early to draw any conclusions on how the ratings will go

I think they're good ratings, we just have to accept it's never going to be pulling in large amounts of viewers anymore. I think all things considered, the ratings could have potentially been a lot worse last night.

When will we get the +1 ratings?

That could bump it up by another 200k-300k, which would meet a lot of our predictions.

Still not bad for a show in it's 12th year and on still finding it's feet on a smaller channel.

DS do it on purpose, they release +1 for everything else and Ch5 normally, but then the day BB launches, they won't release it.

At most, I think BB got 2.8m. But still, 2.8m is still better to look at than 2.6m.

The +1 audience for Big Brother was less than 100,000. At most, the Big Brother launch averaged 2.7m (inc +1).

So, will probably round to 2.7m then?

I'm a bit disappointed, I did think after all the buzz on Twitter last night it would do better. Hopefully it can hold onto a large percentage of last night's audience.

2.2m for tonight?
