Englebert Humperdinck - Love Will Set You Free - Eurovision 2012 - Thoughts?
Sorry if this has already been posted. Forgive me. Haven't seen anything though. I hear this is our entry for Eurovision 2012. What do you guys think? I heard it for the first time last night on Graham Norton and was actually blown away by it. What a voice. First time ever I've bought a Eurovision single!
What are your thoughts? I know Eurovision is political but could this song get us a high mark? I love it. Here's the song and video: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pFNv9pjqZkk |

I actually quite like it; though the leap to the higher notes is maybe a strain on his 76 year old vocal chords! The Hump has always been a guilty pleasure of mine as I do like his voice. I hope he does well.
It could be a good choice as much of Europe still has a ballad tradition. Also, he's popular in Eastern Europe. I reckon he'll pick up a few 8s and 10s, and maybe even some 12s! |

Obviously Hump is a good singer........but really, it's a bit of a nothing song...........instantly forgettable
Maybe it'll do better than the usual ding-a-dong songs we put forward, but it would be a surprise if there isn't a better ballad than that in the show If anyone thinks that song has a chance just imagine if Hump could sing 'The Last Waltz' in Eurovision...........now that could have a chance |

I think this country are deliberately sending shit songs to Eurovision (and have been for a number of years) purely so we don't have to host the stupid thing.
First wise decision towards potential future costs this country has ever made. |

Its a decent track for Eurovision actually but its all so political I doubt we have any chance of winning.

I see it going top ten in eurovision but it won't win those grannies will probably win remember nordi a few years back.
Don't be surprised if russia or sweden win without sounding racist it's often fixed for those countries. I think his voice is very good for his age unlike some older singers the song has really grown on me. Have seen him perform it twice graham norton and this morning I love his version of unchained melody. |

It's a lovely, classy ballad IMO. It might do well with the jury vote, mainly due to Engelbert's respected history in the music biz. I don't see the it doing great in the public vote. I'm predicting bottom half of the left leader board - an average placing.

I really like it, have downloaded it and we tend to well with Ballads. Ican't see it winning but I'd love for it to do well, he's opening the show which is a bit of a killer but then again the last time we went first we won so who knows?

waterline isn't that bad melodically it's better than lipstick.
But it's not getting great comments online so they might not make it through to the finals but they do have alot of fans. |

Urgh. Jedward. They're like turds that won't flush.
I quite like the Humpmeister's effort. The song's not quite strong enough to win, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it comfortably in the top 10. |

I don't like it. It's really boring. Jedward annoy me but I prefer their song. At least it's modern as opposed to a 60s style ballad.
