Who remembers these two songs!

Eamon released F*ck It, which was aimed at his so called "Ex". It went to number 1 and holds the record for the most expletives in a number 1 song, with 33

Then a few months later Frankee, his "Ex" released F*ck You Right Back which also went to number 1 and knocked Eamon's verison off the top spot.

She wasnt even his real Ex though! It was just done by the record labels to create one of music's best rivalries

Very clever how Frankiee replaced Eamon at number 1 though lol.

It was done years before in 83/84 with Michael Jackson - Billie Jean and Lydia Murdock - Superstar.

I just thought of another type of these songs and apologies but I cannot remember the exact artists. There was a song by an American singer (i think) that got to number one a few years back called I don't wanna know and I am sure there was a response song by I think Shola Ama called you should really know.

If I remember Frankie actually replaced Eamon at number one. Eamon was number one for four weeks then Frankie knocked him off the top and stayed there for three weeks. It was like the same song with different lyrics! must have been a nightmare for radio schedulers.

There was that song 'I don't wanna know' by a guy that then had a follow up by a girl called 'You Should Really Know'

Or something along those lines.
Songs weren't very good.

The other song mentioned in this thread - sampled Enya I think. Bobby Valentino maybe?

OT hate both songs. Dismal in every area.

I Love/Loved these songs!

Frankees was funnier.

I didn't remember the fact she replaced him at no. 1! Brilliant!

I did love these songs, preferred Eamon's but Frankee's was just funnier, a real get back at your ex song. I think I was about 14/15 when these songs were out;.

With the'I don't wanna know' and the 'You should really know' I preferred 'You should really know'

Both of these remind me of high school! Frankee's was always funnier, but Eamon's definitely felt more bitter and I guess genuine!

Wasn't this just a great time for music?

Here's another example of a song/answer song

However I had never heard JoJo's song until I was in a club and the two were played back to back

A low point for music that we certainly didn't need reminding of.

There was a female to JLS's Beat Again

By an Ex of one of the JLS boys, her name was Jaime and she did "Cheat again"
It was bloody awful but it got some airplay on the video channels but i don't recall it ever make the charts
