I enjoyed it last week but had some issues about the pace of it because it was more about setting out the characters (understandable really for a first episode).

The second part I thought was a lot better! It had a quicker pace and feel to it. Sebastian has his flaws and can be irritating at times but at the same time you feel for him and what he's going through.

It doesn't hit the heights of Forbrydelsen Series One perhaps even The Bridge (not much does in that genre), but it's still very good and there is some very good acting in it. Definitely worth watching and I will be watching any future episodes

I think they have watched quite a few over the years - they seem to know Inspector Morse and other crime dramas. Also the ubiquitous Top Gear. Actually this is BBC Nordic: http://www.bbcnordic.com/ - not sure whether they all get that channel or if it's part of a cable package or what but it details various shows on there.

As for this episode - I thought it was better than last week's - creepy though. Poor ol' Sebastian at the end. I felt that there was some good character development with Sebastian's character this week as I didn't warm to him last week. Probably would have ended up quite liking him if this had been a proper series.

Enjoyable enough. Not the standard of TK1. The Bridge or Borgen but I'd watch another series

Note to Rolf and/or wardrobe dept: clingy tops are not a good look for a man of that physique. He looked like a saggy Jordan. Gawd knows how he pulls so many women

...but at least the relationship between him and his biological daughter had significantly improved. There's no indication yet that the Tre Vänner (=Three Friends) TV production company are doing a sequel but that might change if there's sufficient positive reaction to the showings in the UK (long shot though).

I did discover though that the same production company is filming a series called Fjällbackamorden/Fjällbacka Murders comprising 10x 90min episodes and 2x TV films . I think it is perhaps time to send an e-post to BBC4 with a suggestion...

Those must be based on Camilla Lackberg's books which are BRILLIANT stories with lovely characters! Yippee. And yes, we must get them to buy these!

Yep, allie4, they appear to be adapted from, and based around, the characters in Camilla Läckberg's books and there's more about the author here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Camilla_Lackberg

Fjällbacka itself is a small town on Sweden's west coast and pictures of the town can be seen here: http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=fj%...w=1024&bih=568

Well, it just wasn't my cup of tea. Too much angst and actor-ing from Sebastian, and I thought he was repulsive what with his manboobs an' all. No way could he truthfully have ever been a sexpot!

I thought it was too much like British formulaic crime dramas, so not for me.

Still, I've got some Scandi crime novels to look forward to. Just finished The Devil's Star by Jo Nesbo, and have got The Inspector and the Silence by Hakan Nesser and The Hypnotist by Lars Keppler waiting.

Defo not up to the standards set by the recent Nordic Noire dramas. Are we really supposed to believe that a serial killer could escape from prison as easily as that . Come on.....!!

I am probably years behind others here, but some may like The Eagle: A Crime Odyssey (In Danish: "Ørnen: En krimi-odyssé") (2004-2006)

Info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eagle_%28TV_series%29

and at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0383164/

From the wiki link 'Plot

The series is named after the lead character, a half-Icelandic half-Danish police officer named Halgrim Ørn Hallgrimsson, nicknamed "Ørnen" (the eagle). In the first episode, a new international criminal investigative unit is being formed under Thea Nellemann (Ghita Nørby), and Hallgrimsson (Jens Albinus) is persuaded to take the job as the lead investigator for the unit. He puts together a small team of experts in their fields. Their cases cross the borders between Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Russia and various other countries; and involve biker gangs, former Russian KGB, possible terrorist threats and international fraud. Throughout the series Hallgrimsson deals with recurring flashbacks and possibly post-traumatic stress from a childhood incident.'

I thought that. Liked the actor playing Ralf Svensson/copycat guy (Per Lasson), and given the script was a bit overblown liked the acting generally.

Official rating for ep1 was 629k - a little disappointing, perhaps?

Unfortunately this didn't really hit the heights for me. In fairness I wasn't in a great mood when I watched it.

Seb Bergman was a loathsome character so didn't get any outpouring of empathy when Rolf was actor-ing his loss, I'm sad to say.

Part 2 was better, harrowing at times with the victims, and an ok watch but TWK no longer has possession of my Scandi dramas wooden spoon.

Seb over egged his many puddings too much I'm afraid.

Vanja was great until the ice melted at the end. She should have torn him to shreds for not getting the cavalry there quick smart - leaving that written note instead.

Apart from his daughter (and isn't it lucky they didn't hit it off before he found out who she was? ) were there any female characters in this Seb hadn't shagged?

All without Rohypnol too.

Sorry, not that I am aware of, ffawkes, and I double checked the Tre Vänner production company website - two episodes and that was it.

Playing criminal profiler Bergman was Rolf Lassgård, a man who looks as burnt out, beaten down and washed-up as it is possible to be without being arrested for vagrancy. If we all end up with the face we deserve you can only imagine the life-threatening hellraising in Sebastian's past – Lassgård does dissolute terribly well.

Lol, yes that reviewer can be quite amusing - he did the episode-by-episode series blogs for S3 of Spiral. Someone (I think they're a Swede) did a good defence of Sebastian's character in the comments somewhere under that review.
