It's the Elton duet! Amazing. I can't freakin' wait!
Somethin' 'bout lonely nights and my lipstick on your face. So I read that the Jakarta concert had actually been cancelled? Is that true? It won't go ahead at all? I like the idea of an album with a storyline - I think it could be really great. TMF was on a theme so it'd be nice to go further than that and have it as a continuous flowing story

Hm. As far as I know they're still trying to get the permit, but Gaga won't be cancelling the show. If they can't get the permit then the show won't go on, so Gaga can't be blamed for the show not going ahead. But if it goes ahead then it'll go ahead with the 4,000 police team like it was said yesterday.

I read an atricle on-line about the Jakarta Police preparing to deploy officers, can't be sure how accurate it is but if they're getting ready to deploy officers then it looks good that they've gotten the permit. I hope so anyway.

I think it should def go ahead if they can do it. But as long as its safe - for the fans and also Gaga and the crew. I understand her not wanting to back down, and also wanting to keep everybody safe. I wonder how much she'll say about it on stage.

I think the Jakarta show is happening.
If it hasn't been officially cancelled by now, then it must be open for debate (aka bribery, censorship, compromise etc.) which means it'll probably happen...just depends on what the arrangement is. It's the protestors who don't want it to happen whatsoever or want Gaga in their country at all, the government/police don't seem so strongly against it...they're just hesitant. |

Magazines stirring trouble again no dout. Though I saw an interview with Minaj and when asked whether her and Gaga are similar she kinda seemed to take offense to it. Perhaps it's wrong of me to say this but I doubt Minaj would have the career she's enjoying now if it weren't for Gaga. In my opinion Gaga made being weird cool for the mainstream of the late 00's.

However, like Gaga and Madonna...I think the reality is that the connections are valid, and if Nicki wants to carry on in a perceived Gaga-esque manner, then she's going to get asked about it regardless of whether she was inspired by Gaga or not. My personal opinion echoes yours in that Gaga paved the way for Nicki. I don't really understand why some refuse to acknowledge that Nicki did not look, sound nor act like she does now post-Gaga. Well, I do, they don't want to give Gaga any credit. Even MTV/Billboard called Nicki (and Katy) out at the Grammys for Gaga's influence on her. Something along the lines of "if there was ever need for evidence of Gaga's effect on pop culture, it was tonight". It's not like it's just "deluded Little Monsters" who notice these things. |

Minaj has seemed relatively over-enthused at the prospect of working with Gaga. She probably doesn't register on Gaga's radar though. Gaga doesn't listen to much recent music because she's so busy. To be honest, I hardly have time either and I'm not as busy as she is lol

She's probably bored of Gaga being mentioned to her, much like Gaga got bored of Madonna being mentioned. Don't blame them. Must be quite irritating to spend precious interview time talking about something they've commented on countless times.

I guess with Nicki, it doesn't help that she's hired Laurieann Gibson as well. My guess would be that she wants the hip-hop/rap equivalent of Gaga's career - not that I can blame her, who wouldn't want that level of success? |

I thought there was an article about it on DS but not sure how reliable that is! She hasn't tweeted anything about it, apart from saying 'there is nothing Holy about hatred'
I hope it's not cancelled!
