Wow, Hayes, there you are. I knew I recognized that candy floss brained reply from somewhere.

It's becoming almost fashion now to bash Gaga, dismiss her as a hasbeen - and if/when she comes back on top with great music/aesthetic/promo they'll all be back. I hadn't realised how fickle this world is, surely if you're a fan, you're a fan for life? I don't mean in a super hardcore way, but somebody that I liked early in their career - even if i don't like some of the stuff they put out later, I don't forever dismiss them into the garbage, seems a bit short-sighted to me!!

Anyway, I have no idea why this is all coming out now. She hasn't put any music out so how can she be labelled a flop? As has been told so many times, BTW was hardly a flop - or if it was, then more please!! I just don't see how all this can be coming out now, when we all (fans included) have literally no idea what the new music sounds like. Until then, how can anybody judge???

True fans will get restless as it's been a long time since she released new music but they will stilll be there when it arrives.

However those people that don't like her never have and never will
They have been saying she's finished since her first single. They work on the principle that if you just keep saying it for long enough it might happen (even if it's 20 years down the line) then, full of their own self importance and wisdom, they will say "Told you so"

Remember that pop forums don't reflect the public, no matter how much posters profess to speak for them. We are all people with heightened interest in it all and that usually brings more extreme opinions.

Stans can go on about the GP thinking artist X is a beloved legend and detractors can go on about the GP thinking artist X is fading/a flop/hated etc but the truth is most people simply do not care that much. If they like artist X's song they download it, if they don't they don't.

If people on here want to go round and round in circles trying to convince everyone/themselves that Gaga is over with rumours, sensationalising, false information, anecdotal evidence and wishful thinking then by all means. It doesn't achieve anything either way.

I'll believe she's over when she returns and flops, till then it's just talk. And even then, popstars as big as her don't just bow out and disappear. Everyone loves a comeback.

Any chance of this being real? It says track 1 is Ratchet with gaga and banks... but there are an awful lot of features on that tracklist so who knows? Plus I can't see Beyonce singing a song with sex in the title for some reason... don't know why!

Seems highly convenient that someone would write out the full tracklist (including features), single release date, album release date, theme, "main producers", writers etc. on a bit of paper.

Not to mention it's seemingly playing into the rumour that Ratchet was Beyonce's lead after media outlets got confused by an ATRL thread about the Gaga/Beyonce/Rihanna/Azealia song theory.

Maybe it's true, which would be cool, but these leaked tracklists very rarely - if ever - are.

And yeah, would Beyonce really do that many collabs on one album?

Yeah that's what I thought too. It's just all a bit convenient really, plus despite the tour being called Mrs Carter I don't think that's what her album will be called... Still, can you imagine if it was real? She's not playing with those collaborations is she?

I think I'm just so hungry for new gaga material I get hopeful at anything now, no matter how unrealistic! Still, hoping she's making a good recovery and taking it easy!

In addition, it's unlikely that Gaga and DJWS would create Ratchet, invite Azealia Banks to feature...then give it to Beyonce including herself as a feature. I mean...that rumour never made sense to me.

Fans are getting themselves hyped up for a birthday announcement to break the weeks of silence. Don't want to expect anything, but I guess it'd be a logical time to say or do something. I'd be totally content with a MonsterVision compiling any leftover footage and an update on her recovery.

There are rumours that there is no change to ARTPOP's release and it will still be summer because the guy who made The Fame cover glasses tweeted he was working with her again and that there was no delay.

I wouldn't be surprised. If Gaga was already walking the day or so after surgery...she's probably not going to need 6 months rest. March - June is still 4 months, anyway.

I'm quite keen on the idea of her doing one or two shows at Yankee Stadium this summer to round everything off, then film it for HBO and DVD. Add in ARTPOP's lead for promo, and boom. It would also coincide with a possible Glastonbury headline and Terry X Gaga docufilm. Oh, and Machete Kills.

Even for someone who has been told to rest she is being very quiet.
I was wondering if she is going to take this enforced break to reinvent herself -- or her image.

Well that's really nice, good to see her thinking about herself and her privacy...yet they still call her an attention seeker

At the risk of sounding insensitive, maybe this break from the public-eye (though unfortunate in how it came about) could be a good thing:

• It will give the public a break from Gaga, which could prove to be a good thing. Give them a chance to miss her.

• It will build fan anticipation for ARTPOP.

• It will show (mostly the annoying, needy, inconsiderate) fans that Gaga is only human, and that she can't be this manic acclaimed singer-songwriter-popstar-performer machine all of the time.

• It kinda gives the Born this Way era a definite full stop. Period. Instead of the BTW era melting into the ARTPOP era.

• It will Gaga the chance to live a more normal existence for a while. A good rest for a while will do her the world of good. Hopefully it will refresh her and perhaps focus her drive to make ARTPOP as good as it can be.

• This normal existence may then be reflected in some of her song-writing. Instead of perhaps writing songs about (or at least inspired by) constant touring, she might be able to write about more everyday experiences.

Just some thoughts

Well, she's been on a "Gaga break" since the start of 2012, which is trying and failing to stay out of the spotlight because everything and anything is reported on. Obviously not helped by the perfume launch and touring.

But yeah, having months of absolutely nothing just before ARTPOP can only help. It'll make the comeback moment feel even bigger. Plus give her plenty of time to finish and prep everything with minimal distraction so it's all systems go this summer.

The break will do her good, and hopefully also be good for ARTPOP too. She needs to take a break, we've been saying this for a while now. As much as she loves and is dedicated to what she's doing, it's unfeasible for anybody to maintain that workload for long. Hopefully she'll recharge her batteries and rethink her work schedule a little bit so that this doesn't happen again.

With rumours that she was walking around soon after the op, perhaps this wasn't as bad as initially thought - but she should heed the warning nonetheless.

People will criticise her for anything - this I've realised now. As toanythingtaboo says, despite a media break from beginning of 2012 almost, she's still reported on all the time, even if she herself doesn't do anything. I think people are missing her though, and will realise it when she comes back in the charts. I miss her promo performances, her interviews and even her red carpet appearances. Award shows just seem boring now!!

Beyonce has refused to comment on the leaked setlist, but NeYo has said that two of his songs have made it on there (if the songlist is correct) Thinking about it more now, I still can't see why Gaga would write Ratchet and then give it to Beyonce... Didn't she mention it first also? And then others like Azaelia, Rihanna and Beyonce start talking about it? I'm not so clued up on the timeline of all of this.. Still all will be revealed at some point!

I'm not really surprised Gaga has been "boring" people lately. She was the 3rd most talked about woman in 2012 (behind only Michelle Obama and Hilary Clinton) despite not being active, so essentially there's been relentless media coverage without her delivering what people actually want from her - music.

When she remedies that, it'll be fine. The detractors have always been there, they're just not being drowned out by much louder positivity like normal.





Sidenote, it's funny that so many think she's "fading" and "irrelevant" when she's still making more headlines than her peers and even during a break. Media outlets report what they know will gets hits and shift copies, so really this is evidence that clearly a lot of people are still enthralled by Gaga. If nobody cared, they wouldn't either.

More rumours re Beyonce Azaelia and Gaga. We know she's collaborated with Azaelia but what's not made clear is whether the other collaborations Banks mentions are altogether, or separate. It doesn't do anything to dissuade the Ratchet rumours though, so I guess this interview has come at a great time for hype. I wonder whether it's something like a joint single, that will appear on both their albums and start both of their eras? Probably not though... can't see either of them sharing the spotlight that way...

Interesting, but I believe the whole Ratchet thing between Beyonce and Gaga is too more to be a coincidence, I doubt they would be making two different songs with the same title plus both be working with Azealia seperately there's also the ear rings if you remember? I want it all to be together and I think it is...fingers crossed!

I feel like Azealia was referring to two separate songs with Gaga and Beyonce...and Gaga has two separate songs with Azealia and Beyonce. Ratchet (and Red Flame) with the former, the PapaTele continuation with the latter.

It could still be a coincidence that both Gaga and Beyonce sported "Ratchet" earrings...but who knows. It's exactly the kind of thing Gaga would do to hint to us months in advance.

If it is true, then f*ck me. It'll certainly be a great pre-ARTPOP hype boost to get a hit single out there to 'prep the oven' so to speak. Not sure she'll be able to dance/feature in the video though...
