It's nice that she did a little something for Indonesia fans and got the crowd to join in. Obviously it's not the same as attending yourself but I'm glad she followed through on her promise and I liked the speech that went with it.

Just been catching up on the Juvilee concert - the UK is in serious need of some talent. I mean I know we have it but we haven't got a British Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Madonna, Paul Simon or Gaga equivalent really. Why wasn't Joss Stone asked? Where was Adele? Kate Bush? The Who? The Stones or Queen???!? I can only imagine the US equivalent of something like that an it makes me wish we had our own British gaga really!

I don't know why American artists were invited. It was about Britain and the commonwealth. You could say Grace Jones (Jamaica) is the commonwealths Gaga and Kylie (Aussie) is our Madonna.

Just be grateful Justin Bieber (Canada) wasn't classed as the Michael Jackson!

Yes that's definitely something to be thankful for! It just made me realise that whilst we do have some great talent in Britain (and the Commonwealth) we just cant compete with the US when it comes to showmanship really. Not anymore anyway. I enjoyed Elton's set but a lot of ppl are saying he's past it and shouldn't have been playing, along with Cliff and Sir Paul.

We havent really got any British superstars in terms of Madonna, Gaga et al and I'm not sure why? It can't just be a question of population can it? Is it to do with opportunities given? Or the media?

I think American stars are just more hyped but we still have incredible talent. Adele owns the music world right now and she is British. Jessie J is very good regardless of what people may think of her and is easily better than Katy Perry. We also have younger stars like Emile Sande and Rita Ora coming through. Then there is Coldplay who are huge. I haven't even mentioned Subo yet! I think British talent is more layed back compared to the artists you get in the states. Not sure why none of the above bar Jessie performed last night but then maybe they were too pushed for time and I believe Adele is currently in America.

Gaga is stealing Kate Middleton's look, then giving it some Gaga to show her how it's done haha.

The Jubilee thing was dire. One act after the other with a bland talky bit between.

It didn't help that they were so stupid as to think nobody would want to do a mexican wave or sing with Rolf. Novice.

Madness were the only band really, which is dissapointing.

Muse, Coldplay, U2, Adele, Leona, SuBo etc could have put on a much better show.

Alot of the problem is that these London venues are very clinical feeling, too big, white and boring. Yhe Mall, Hyde Park, Wembley (during daylight)... London doesn't really have a charismatic enough venue to carry this.

Back to Gaga: what's she up to these days?

I'd like a big song with bass drum and claps as the instrumental for the chorus, something enormous and completely non-dance. Imagine "I will fly like a challenger" etc with just thumping kick drum and claps.

I can't wait to hear what she's come up with personally - I'd like some songs that have a completely new sound, something really inventive and weird. I'd also like more Gaga-esque tunes with a rocky edge and of course the great hooks! And also, not that I'm demanding or anything, a really great ballad. Her and piano a la Stefani. Not asking much!

I wish The Queen was performed on tour.

Sneaky suspicion that she'll do it in the UK?

I want Gaga to have an MTV Unplugged special or similar. It would slahey.

Gaga can probably play some guitar. It's fairly easy once you know piano. It's all just about practice. An acoustic by Gaga on a guitar of You & I in a sombre mood would be beautiful.

@ladygaga
Holllllly muthhhheeeerr! New Zealand get ready I'm feeling particularly pumped tonight!! Somebooody got to hear all my new music last night.......*cough cough* Lady Starlight..feel free to heckle her
"all my new music", eh? Sounds like this album is pretty far along.

Does anyone else think that the influx of people commenting on the album this month was totally planned? We've not been swimming in info, but after months of silence it seems like everyone has begun talking about it simultaneously (Vincent Herbert, Troy Carter, DJWS, Fernando, Gaga herself).

"It begins..." indeed.

Her last few tweets have been hilarious. It's nice to see that side of her.

Perhaps this is their way of being subtle? Who knows...
It is exciting though, the prospect of new Gaga music. I agree toanythingtaboo - there's been no news for ages and then all of a sudden, everybody's talking about it. Or people in the know are anyway. Although I would never not want new music, I cant help but feel she should wait a bit. It's only been a year since BTW and I think she needs to make the public miss her. I know that all this talking doesn't mean it's coming out soon (in fact, likely the opposite as this is Gaga we're talking about after all) but I think she needs to take a break, for herself if for no other reason.

You know, on paper it does sound quite premature to launch into a new album already, but I think the general state of pop right now has created demand for her return (whether people realise it or not). It's so boring. One hit wonders are ruling the charts, Adele's reign has let up and no popstar is really dominating.

There isn't going to be a particular moment where the public collectively realise they miss her, giving Gaga the go-ahead for return. The catch-22 is that we can only really assess the effectiveness of her break (or lack thereof) after she releases new music. At the end of the day, if she delivers...she delivers, and that is the only thing that will matter. Rihanna is the case in point there. She never goes away, but all is forgiven the moment she drops a song like We Found Love.

In terms of time, this album isn't being rushed. It's been over 9 months since she mentioned the process had begun, but I reckon she began earlier considering she never stops writing, and I'd say we have at least another 4/5 months before new material surfaces...so we're talking 13+ month production time, a year and a half since BTW's release and a year since the BTW era ended with MTN.

I think it seems like a lot less time has past, but that's an acceptable break in my eyes. Especially when you consider that really, the last months of the BTW era weren't exactly in peoples faces in the same way that Alejandro was at the end of TFM.

I'd say she'll try a new strategy. She could release a new single to kick off the north American leg of the tour, then another just as the tour ends, or at least perform a new song like she did with you & i. That way ticket sales get encouragement etc.

I can see a new album coming out in time for Xmas.

So at the point in her Glastonbury headline slot (which, if she doesn't get, I'm going to cry) where the lights and theatrics stop and she just gets a spotlght and a chair, she needs to kill us with this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECzSSZhNvj8

And use a mic stand to start up a mass singalong. What an absolutely captivating moment that would be. It's not even that hard to learn. Go on Gags, you know you want to.

To avoid comparisons with Beyonce, she should go out there as an all singing, all dancing, piano guitar keytaring jazzying crazy woman.

Or maybe that.

I can't wait to see her in September, I already know the show, but there's so much more she can still do with her stuff!

I effing love her new T-shirt. They emailed me an email entitled "Dig that pony" haha. It looks amazing. Part Unicorn, part Motorbike, part naked Gaga all with teal hair. Gorgeous T-shirt with "Ride, ride, pony, ride ride" on there. Loooove.

I'm in Germany at the moment doing some more auditions and on Weds I was at Leipzig airport and there was about 4/5 teenage boys walking around in yellow t-shirts that said NO LADY GAGA. Isn't that weird?

Anyway, there must be a reason why she hasn't announces the US dates so maybe she is planning to release something over there... I hope it ties in with an awards ceremony cos that's always good promotion. I'd just hoped that she was gonna give herself a rest, she never stops!
